Madame Fortuna Is Back!
Recalled from her post-11/5/24 election slumber by President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son. Hunter, Madame Fortuna has some things to say.
The pardon served multiple functions. Hunter would be protected from imminent sentencing on his federal convictions and end further federal inquiry into criminal acts back to January 1, 2014. Biden also seemed to be flexing his political muscle and telling Pelosi, Obama and Democrats who humiliatingly forced him to abandon his presidential race, “Hold my beer!”.
Biden did it despite his repeated assertions that he would not pardon Hunter.
Biden has held public office for more than 50 years during which time in which he enriched himself and his family while managing to dodge accountability for any of his suspect actions.
So Biden pardoned his pornstar, drug-addled son. He also did it on a Sunday and then immediately left for a foreign trip. When questioned about the pardon in Angola, Africa, he nonsensically answered “Welcome to America!”
Madame Fortuna sees unintended consequences of Biden’s pardon.
-It is a blow to the Democrat party and mainstream media who defended him.
-It is an implication/admission that Hunter may have been committing federal crimes since 2014.
-Hunter can still be civilly sued and criminally charged by individual states. He has lost the right to assert the Fifth Amendment in criminal proceedings for acts committed during the pardon term. Foreign nations can still charge him for criminal acts. Secret foreign bank accounts may be seized.
-Hunter may have committed offenses prior to 2014.
-Congress can subpoena him to testify and if he refuses to answer, hold him in contempt and jail him.
-Other Biden family members are not covered by the pardon. (That may change if additional pardons are issued).
To an America aware that the Department of Justice did not indict Hunter for failure to file as a foreign agent and which let the statute of limitations run on other claims, the charge of him being “unfairly targeted” is a special affront. It portrays Hunter as a victim of the Department of Justice when the record points to the contrary.
Madame Fortuna is thinking of the movie, The Godfather and the scene where Michael Corleone confronts Carlo Rizzi, who was responsible for the murder of his brother, Sonny.
“Only don’t tell me you’re innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and makes me very angry.”
America, the sleeping giant, has been awakened.
