Historic win: Miss Israel World International Ayelet Raymond, first beauty queen with Star of David crown

As the first Hasidic woman to hold the Miss Israel World International title, my journey has always been about bridging worlds: faith and modernity, tradition and ambition, Jerusalem and the wider world.

Growing up in a Hasidic community in Jerusalem, I did not attend secular Israeli schools like most children in Israel. My education was guided by rabbis and deeply rooted in Torah, halacha, and Midrash, shaping every aspect of daily life. Religious practice was central, and public commentary—particularly on symbols like the Star of David—was generally avoided. Jewish pride was expressed through devotion to Torah and the enduring principles of faith.

Even within these boundaries, curiosity and dreams grew. I began to reimagine what it meant to engage with Israel’s modern history, culture, and identity. My interest in the wider world was not a rejection of my religious upbringing—it was reflection. It allowed me to appreciate Israeli history more fully, as I believe every Jew living in Israel should honor its flag as a symbol of continuity, unity, and shared identity.

Wearing the Miss Israel World International “Star of David” crown is historic. I designed it to honor my tradition and the Israeli flag, becoming the first Israeli beauty queen to wear a crown featuring the Star of David. This milestone makes a statement: faith, modesty, and tradition do not exclude ambition, creativity, or public visibility.

Although I competed in the Miss World International pageant this year, I have never considered myself a fashion model. My purpose was to share my story with the world—and that authenticity is what ultimately led to my win. Authenticity cannot be staged. When people encounter Kosher Barbie, they hear a natural Hebrew accent and experience Israel through language, culture, light, and rhythm. My influence comes from showing up fully—not from trying to convince anyone.

The crown represents more than beauty. It represents a life of choices—respecting heritage while creating visibility, honoring faith while pursuing ambition.

I wear my Kosher Barbie Star of David crown with pride, honoring both the Miss Israel World International and Miss World Influencer titles, while sending a message of strength, identity, and light for all Jewish women.
