My Christmas Present for Obama
The convergence of Christmas and Chanuka this year seems to have put President Obama in a particularly festive mood. He didn’t squander his final opportunity in office to offer a parting Chanuka present to the Jewish people in the form of a devastating abstention at the UN from one of their notorious anti-Israel resolutions. I think it is therefore only fitting to send the President an equally appropriate Christmas gift: the Bible.
What do you get the man who has everything? Obama’s shameless betrayal of Israel demonstrates his clear ignorance of God’s word and therefore I thought he could use some timeless teachings from the Bible to round out his Ivy league education. While there are hundreds of versions of the Bible out there, I decided the best one for the president would be “The Israel Bible” which highlights to role of Israel on each and every page.
Clearly, Obama isn’t the only one who needs a Bible lesson and so my organization is planning to mail additional copies of “The Israel Bible” to all the members of the UN. I urge you to join us in bombarding the UN and the White House with Bibles so they can read for themselves such verses as:
Genesis 12:3 – And I will bless those that bless you, and curse him that curses you; and in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Exodus 6:8 – And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 20:24 – You shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Numbers 34:2 – When you come into the land of Canaan, this shall be the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to the borders thereof.
Deuteronomy 11:12 – A land which the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year unto the end of the year.
These are just one example from the first five books of the Bible, but there are literally hundreds of other verses that utterly contradict Friday’s disgraceful UN resolution denying the Jewish connection to Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.
It is in fact quite remarkable that the United Nations has managed to disrespect and desecrate both Judaism and Christianity in the days leading up to the unusual confluence of Christmas and Chanuka.
Today the Jewish people began to celebrate Chanuka, the festival commemorating the defeat of the ancient Greeks who tried to purge the Holy Temple in Jerusalem of its Jewish character long ago. December 25th of course also marks Christmas, the day Christians celebrate the birth of a Jewish baby in Bethlehem who later died in Jerusalem. The rejection of Israel’s right to Jerusalem and Bethlehem is therefore an affront to both Jews and Christians who cherish the Bible.
I hope that by sending “The Israel Bible” as a Christmas present to President Obama, he will come to recognize that the God of Israel gave the entire Land of Israel to the People of Israel.
