Netanyahu and his coalition are Israel’s most dangerous threat

Israel weighs expelling UK officials from Gaza coordination center amid settlements row

I’m damn tired of ‘pro-Israel’ being used by both media and, especially, in social media as an insult or point of indignation. It creates the assumption that the opposite of ‘pro-Israel’ is no Israel, which is as ludicrous and unrealistic as saying ‘no’ France or ‘no’ Germany.

Earlier today I saw a negative reference to the ‘pro-Israel’ Jared Kushner. Jared has been funded in the billions of dollars by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. And Kushner’s financial ties to the United Arab Emirates center on hundreds of millions of dollars in sovereign wealth investments made to his private equity firm, Affinity Partners.

I don’t see where Jared’s being paid off by Israel anywhere. If Kushner is ‘pro-Israel,’ who in the hell needs enemies?

I’m also tired of ‘Zionist’ (or ‘zio’) being used as the new Jewish attack line and slur. I’m old and had heard them all…I’d thought so, anyway. I didn’t even realize ‘zio’ was the new ‘hebe’ until somebody called me that in comments to a blog I wrote on another site a few months back and second commenter said he was going to report him for that reference on my behalf.

But it is important to recognize that when Israel became an independent secular state, ‘Zionism’ became historically archaic as its original premise was the return to the Jewish people’s historic and ancient homeland of Israel. And we now have after so long away. Zionism’s original premise was also for a secular independent State of Israel which has since been sadly and violently compromised.

This is NOT near what was conceptualized as Zionism but is ‘biblical Zionism’ which is a violent mythology based on perceptions of the Old Testament also strongly supported and pursued by American Christian Zionists, to include Mike Huckabee, Trump’s Ambassador to Israel.

Modern Israel is not biblical Israel, which primarily covered the country of Israel and the Palestinian territories with parts extending into modern Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. But the Old Testament is neither an historical, demographic nor cartographic document. Though it has a smattering of authentic History throughout, it is so deeply interwoven with myth so as to have little – if any – modern application.

It is grossly inaccurate to presumptively identify any Jew who supports Israel as a ‘Zionist.’ It also represents a misunderstanding of the Timeline of History.

The more recent incarnation of ‘biblical Zionism’ violates the original secular Zionist thinkers and intellectuals but more accurately represents Jewish extremists in Netanyahu’s sickening coalition along with West Bank Settler terrorists whose tents need to be cleared out and every one arrested. Instead, the police and IDF more often watch passively then ‘arrest’ Palestinians who attempt to resist and fight back against settler attacks.

I’m Jewish. I’ve lived and worked in Israel and strongly support the nation. But I also as strongly oppose the E1 settlement plan and the Netanyahu government’s violent disconnect and dissociation from a global reality.

Until October 7, I strongly supported the two-state solution. I still do but recognize very specific parameters will have to be met to ensure that October 7 is NEVER repeated…as is the stated wish of Hamas. But just one problem is that there is not now any kind of ‘Palestinian’ state no matter claims to the contrary. A state needs a common government, a common and independent economy and political culture. It needs safe law enforcement and first responders.

In the West Bank and Gaza, instead, we have two Palestinian leadership models long engaged in bloody internecine warfare. And neither, especially Hamas, has the remotest interest in Palestinian Rights or sovereignty since that would interfere with Hamas’ brutal Gaza dictatorship and continued intent to engage in genocide against Israel. I still could support a Palestinian state – but one which is secure and stable must first exist.

The West Bank was Jordanian territory until 1988 and its residents Jordanian citizens. Then, arbitrarily, Jordan ended it’s jurisdiction, removed Jordanian citizenship and invalidated the Jordanian passports of those previously Jordanian citizens. Jordan is a rightful home of many Palestinians until the civil war in 1971 when the first King Hussein engaged in Black September which killed as many as 20,000 Palestinians with the remainder thrown out of the country.

Yet, I haven’t heard the global ‘pro-Palestinian’ movements ask Jordan about its complicity or responsibility. Just Israel alone.

I am not ‘anti-Israel’ in my deep contempt for Israel’s current violent hard Right government with Netanyahu as more a figurehead than a true PM. Netanyahu promised at the start of his Faustian coalition that he would always have the final word and make the final decision. He lied as his only concern is holding his coalition together and remaining PM

This is, in fact, not wholly different from the fact that Trump is less the US ‘president’ but an idiot (however dangerous) distraction for the eugenic Project 2025, its primary Christian Nationalist author and now director of the OMB, Russel Vought, and the Goebbels look-alike and shadow ‘president,’ Stephen Miller.

I also strongly oppose the impunity given to West Bank settler terrorists by the Netanyahu government who act unlawfully, profanely and violently while the IDF and police often watch passively; sometimes being involved directly.

That these terrorist settler children who set up a tent in the courtyard of a Palestinian home thereby trapping those folks in their home were allowed to continue was deeply shameful. It was also insanity. They and their tent should have been immediately cleared away by the IDF rather than being allowed to go on over an extended time period. I consider these potential war crimes.

I’m tired of the brutality and death pushed by Netanyahu and his coalition without purpose and without objective but for their perverse sense of ‘biblical Zionism’ which directly violates the original intent of Zionism. And, as already identified, I’m also disgusted by the nonsense that anybody who doesn’t support Netanyahu and his violent coalition is antisemitic and/or anti-Israel

I’m also fed up with the Netanyahu government literally attacking its (our) strongest allies increasingly over the past several years for self-serving reasons that do not support the State of Israel’s security or stability. No more than anyone in America who doesn’t support Trump is a ‘leftist,’ anybody who doesn’t support Netanyahu is not an antisemite or, necessarily, anti-Israel. A percentage are but it’s failed as a presumptive attack line

Does Netanyahu plan to expel representatives of any government who don’t agree with his actions or the insanity of his key coalition members to include Smotrich and Ben Gvir? Does Netanyahu’s government plan to deny entry to any Democratic member of the US Congress who is similarly disgusted?

How much more isolated and diminished can Netanyahu make Israel?

Netanyahu and his coalition are a greater immediate threat to Israel’s current security and future stability than Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis combined. Though another point I need to share is that despite these observations, I have yet to hear about any of Israel’s self-righteous global detractors demand that Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah leave Israel the hell alone.

Israel is, in fact, fighting to survive even if it is now doing so damn poorly. Only Netanyahu could have so quickly lost global empathy following Hamas terrorists truly small genocidal attack on southern Israel on October 7 2023. Hamas had planned on extending their medieval brutality and extreme sexual violence beyond southern Israel but were finally stopped cold though it took too long.

AIPAC has become a fill in for gross antisemitism just as Trump’s DEI is virulent racism

The Democrats aren’t charged up about Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Corporate Climate Science Denialism (human-caused climate change was the reason for Nepal; Trump is handing out billions to cancel alternative wind and solar projects to pay off Big Oil) but the Democrats are intimidated by saying AIPAC out loud. For the record, I have never – ever – supported AIPAC. Democrats need to focus and go on the offensive rather than constantly reactive and defensive

Then there are anti-LGBTQ lobbies, anti reproductive care lobbies and anti-vax lobbies all of which are, literally, killing Americans. Killing women and children. There is Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society which is to Project 2025 and Trump as AIPAC is to Netanyahu…but a helluva lot more dangerous than AIPAC on its best day. I’ve made clear I want Netanyahu and his extremists held fully accountable – but not at the cost of leaving Israel alone or open to attack.

PM’s party accuses the Otzma Yehudit leader, Ben Gvir, of ‘burning votes’ for sake of his ego after he turns down PM’s invite to so much as meet with Smotrich ‘to save the right-wing bloc’

The ‘right wing block’s’…”historic momentum in the settlement of Judea and Samaria” reflect brutal insanity with impunity given to violent West Bank settler terrorists who are engaged in full-out ethnic cleansing of the West Bank.

Ben Gvir is not only directly supporting and encouraging West Bank settler terrorism but has armed them as well. And the cult of personality is purely of Netanyahu who MUST be voted out of office with his coalition and Likud. Biden had placed sanctions on lead West Bank settler leaders which Trump, of course, immediately ended. How many were aware of this fact? Those sanctions, and a few more, must be reinstituted.

But also similar to Trump who ran for the White House in 2024 mainly to stay out of jail, Netanyahu needs his PM office to keep him out of his court dates. Once both are voted out of office, legal accountability can then be pursued. Netanyahu, his government coalition and Likud must be voted cleanly out of power then held fully and legally accountable.

In the US, if Democrats and the many still sane Republicans and Independents vote in our numbers come November, we will crush the GOP voter suppression machine, retake congressional majorities and be able to hold Trump and his primary sycophants criminally accountable.

Jack Smith is still out there and still waiting patiently. Trump will learn that the deeply corrupt SCOTUS’ unconstitutional ‘presidential immunity’ decision doesn’t cover near as much as he was told
