No More Illusions: Every Jew Must See the World As It Is

Every Jew — everywhere — should no longer hesitate to recognize what we’ve seen with our own eyes for years, and what has become undeniable in the days since Israel stood alone on June 13, 2025, to confront the Iranian nuclear threat.

For too long, we wanted to believe.
We believed in the promises of “Never Again.”
We believed in global institutions created in the aftermath of the Holocaust.
We believed that moral clarity would prevail in the face of evil.
We believed that when push came to shove, the world would not allow a genocidal regime to get this close — again.

And yet, here we are.

More than a week since Israel launched a daring, necessary, and costly strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, the world still has not joined us.
No international coalition.
No outpouring of political solidarity.
No shared mission to eliminate the greatest existential threat facing the Jewish people since 1948.

Yes, some allies have helped Israel defend its people from Iran’s barrage of missiles and drones — and that assistance has saved lives.

But let’s not confuse defense with deterrence.
Let’s not confuse helping Israel survive with standing up for Israel’s right to live.

This Is the Moment to See Clearly

For years, we watched Iran cross red line after red line.
We watched the world warn, then wait.
We watched enrichment levels rise.
We watched Holocaust denial meet high-speed centrifuges.
We watched as Israel was told to “de-escalate” — even while it was targeted for destruction.

And now, after the world’s long pause, Israel acted.

Israel acted because it had to.
Israel acted because we knew the consequences of delay.
Israel acted because the Jewish people will not outsource our security — or our dignity — ever again.

Every Jew Must Let This Sink In

This moment is not only about military strategy or geopolitics.
It is a test of Jewish awareness.
Of what it means to live in this world — after Auschwitz, after Entebbe, after Munich, after October 7, and now after June 13.

We must stop pretending the international community will always rise to meet the danger.
We must stop imagining that “Never Again” is anyone’s responsibility but our own.

If We Won’t See It Now, When Will We?

If the past week hasn’t shattered our illusions, what will?

Every Jewish heart must carry the weight of this truth:
When Israel acted to stop the next potential genocide, the world hesitated.
And if Israel had not acted — no one else would have.

Let that truth shape our conversations, our politics, our unity, and our resolve.

Because the world just reminded us — again — that the Jewish people must always be ready to stand alone.

Not because we want to.
But because sometimes, we must.

And this time, we did.
