Our Enemies Push Us to Choose: Ukraine or Israel
Our enemies want to force us to choose: either Ukraine or Israel. They demand that we throw at least one of them under the bus. At heart, they want to throw both under the bus.
The simple reality is that Israel and Ukraine are in the same boat. It is the boat of an America unashamedly involved in shaping the world.
Netanyahu and Zelensky both know this. By a strange turn of fate, they are the two greatest Jewish leaders in the world today: a Jew freely elected to lead Ukraine, not just Israel. American Jews should respect this remarkable fact.
It is only our enemies, including the isolationists here at home, who win by pitting Israel and Ukraine against each other. It is a divide and rule trick.
Sadly, a lot of advocates of Israel fall for the trick. Just look at the Zionist journals in America; you can often read them arguing for “Israel only – throw Ukraine under the bus.”
Same with a lot of advocates of Ukraine. Just look at most European leaders; they argue for throwing Israel under the bus and saving only their own necks.
At this time, the isolationists are winning with this tactic. Just look at JD Vance; the text of his Iran MOU is the most humiliating capitulation to an enemy that America has ever signed. And a completely unnecessary one; a far greater power surrendering to a far weaker one.
In pitting Israel and Ukraine against each other, the isolationists are in fact pitting the good Americans against each other. Each faction is reduced to vying for keeping America involved in the part of the world it is most concerned about. It ends up harming both of America’s great fighting allies.
At heart, the divide-and-rule tactic pits America against its very self in its role in the world. It diminishes America greatly.
For its most consistent advocates, that is in fact the goal. In tandem with America’s worst ideological enemies abroad, they call for reducing America to a regional power, one with a special role only in the Americas.
That is why they pit Israel against Ukraine, to the detriment of both. If they succeed, it will be the greatest catastrophe America has ever suffered.
