Our Jewishness is what antisemites hate, and what saves us

Antisemites hate the fact that Jews have what they don’t.

Jews have a tradition of strong moral values based on Torah. Antisemites don’t have that. They don’t want to have it.

But they also don’t want Jews to have it. Because when Jews have it while they don’t, it bothers them tremendously. It emphasizes what they are missing.

So antisemites desperately want to get rid of the Jews. Period. Trying to accommodate them, to compromise your values for them, won’t help. Your very presence, your existence as a Jew, is a thorn in their eyes.

What Jews need to do, is to reinforce and strengthen their own Jewish identity.

The antisemite wants to remove us. And our answer is to do just the opposite.

And by doing so, by strengthening our connection to our Jewish essentialness, our Jewish soul, a veritable part of G-d above, we invigorate our bond and trust in our Father in heaven.

And that protects us. Because even the most sophisticated army needs G-d’s blessing to be successful.

Indeed, we are now seeing a resurgence of so many Jews returning to their roots, to their essential Jewish identity and heritage.

Today marks the first day of the three weeks, when Jews commemorate the destruction of the first two Temples in Jerusalem. The Lubavitcher said, that by studying the laws regarding the Temple, we hasten the final Redemption, when the third and eternal Temple will be built, and when all nations “will serve the Almighty with one shoulder.” (Zephaniah 3; 9)

May it happen now.
