Our Miklat

This is not our first red alert, and while I hope and pray it might be the last, I don’t know that it will be.
Over these past 20 months of war, and specifically this last week, we have spent more time in our home bomb shelter then we have the last 34 years since we built our home.
We have amassed in it, a family’s amount of “junk”, and we have spent time (specifically last shabbat) seeing just how many people we can squeeze in. We have also spent time sorting through some of the junk, getting rid of things. And making “home improvements ” to our shelter.

Just this morning we installed a fan, which we are very happy to have right now, as we sit, once again, in our shelter.
And yet, there is no where in the world  we’d rather live.
We hold citizenship in the country of our birth, but THIS is our home.

We have learnt from the mistakes of the 10 spies in this week’s Parshat Shelach, and all we have to say is   כי טובה הארץ מאד מאד
