Passover

The Hebrew word for Passover is Pesach. The Torah tells us that G-d ‘posach’ – skipped over (and saved) the Jews, when He smote the Egyptian first-born.

The festival of Passover reminds us, energizes us, inspires us to pass over limitations.

It teaches us, that we have the ability to accomplish what the Almighty wants us to accomplish, namely to fulfill His commandments.

And by doing so, we accomplish something amazing. We reveal G-d’s unity within our physical world. Because physicality is not an obstacle to spirituality. Rather there is a synergy.

Chassidus explains (regarding the spiritual and the physical, that) the One G‑d created them both, and for one purpose – to reveal the light of Holiness of His hidden power. Only both of them together will complete the perfection desired by the Creator.

The purpose of creation, is (as a Medrash tells us) that G-d wanted a dwelling place in our world.

There are angels and celestial spiritual worlds above. But G-d wanted His presence revealed in this lowly world. And when we do so, we bring Redemption. We redeem the world from limitations, as we show how G-d is everywhere.

We saw this during the Exodus from Egypt, when the Almighty hit the Egyptians with plagues, took us out of Egypt, split the sea so that we could pass through, drowned our enemies, gave us the Torah at Mount Sinai, and brought us to the land of Israel, which He had bequeathed to the Jewish nation forever.

Just like in days of old, now too we are seeing wondrous miracles, as our enemies are being defeated.

“In the month of Nisan we were redeemed, and in the month of Nisan we will be redeemed.” (Talmud Rosh Hashana, 11b)

May it happen very soon.
