Pekudei – Gold, Silver and Copper

The name of this Parasha is Pekudei פְקוּדֵי, meaning “accounting of”, it is therefore fitting for this study to focus on the accounting of numbers:

The gematria of this verse above is 1540, which is the number of combinations of the three-letter root, symbolizing Israel as the final product, the triangle number of 55, which is the gematria of bride כַּלָּה, for Israel is the intended final bride, as discussed last week.

The accounting is specifically focused on the weight of gold, silver and copper.

Gold symbolizes Mashiach, Silver is Israel, and Copper is nations, the building of the tabernacle unifies the three into becoming one.

Mashiach Is Gold

The word Gold זְהָבִ appears exactly 386 times in the Hebrew Bible. The accounting of this word with all her constructs as appeared in the Hebrew Bible is listed as follows:

620 is the gematria of crown כֶּתֶר, and 386 is the gematria of Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ, the name of Mashiach, fittingly, for Mashiach is the head of the redeemed congregation.

The gold donation for the tabernacle is 29 talents and 730 shekels (Ex 38:24). Astonishingly, the Hebrew name Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ appears in the Hebrew Bible exactly 29 times. The accounting of this name with its two prefixes is as follows:

Gold in the periodic table has an atomic number of 79, which is the gematria of “garden of YHVH” גַּן יְ-הוָה, in fact, this is exactly where the first time when gold was mentioned:

“There is gold” שָׁם הַזָּהָב  in gematria is 359, the same gematria of Meshicha מְשִׁיחָא which is the Aramaic form of the Hebrew word for Mashiach.

Generally speaking, Aramaic represents a coarser emanation of light than Hebrew, as such gold here symbolizes a coarser emanation of the original light. When light was first mentioned, God said: “it is good” כִּי-טוֹב (Gen 1:4). Consequently, when gold was first mentioned, it is written: “and the gold of that land is good” וּזְהַב הָאָרֶץ הַהִוא, טוֹב. (Gen 2:12). Noticeably, the “third person pronoun” used for gold here is feminine, representing the reflected light (as female reflects male):

397 is exactly the 79^th prime number (when 1 is counted as the 1^st prime), and 79 is the atomic number of gold in the periodic table.

397 is also the gematria of a variant spelling of Yeshua known as Yehoshua יְהוֹשׁוּעַ, with the infix of a Hey and a Vav, effectively reflecting the first three letters of YHVH, which in Kabbalistic term represents the order of descent from father י, through mother ה to son ו.

The mirror image of 79 is 97, which is the 26^th prime number (when 1 is counted as the 1^st prime), also the gematria of “Son of Man” בֶּן-אָדָם, which is a Messianic title.

Israel Is Silver

It is specifically with Israel that the half shekel silver is to be offered for the redemption of soul (Ex 30:13).

The silver donation is 100 talents and 1,775 shekels from 603,550 donors (Ex 38:25-26).

Since each donor donated half shekel, and there are 603,550 donors in total, the total donation in silver would be 603,550 / 2 = 301,775 shekels.

Since the Bible accounted 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, it is obvious that one talent is 3,000 shekels, and 301,775 shekels worked out to be exactly 100 talent 1,775 shekels.

Silver in the periodic table has an atomic number of 47, which is exactly the ordinal number of Jacob:

70 Nations is Copper

The copper donation for the tabernacle is 70 talents and 2,400 shekels (Ex 38:29).

70 obviously hints to the 70 nations, as 70 is the gematria of “Adam and Eve” אָדָם וְחַוָּה, from whom issued the 70 nations, for this reason, 70 offerings are made on Sukkot for the 70 nations.

Copper in the periodic table has an atomic number of 29, which reflects 29 talents of gold in Mashiach, as copper is close to gold in luster.

2400 shekels of copper represents the unification of 70 nations in Mashiach as 1 nation, since when 1 is subtracted from 2400, the remaining number 2399 is exactly the 358^th prime number (when 1 is counted as the 1^st prime), alluding to Mashiach as the core to whom the nations must be gathered and nullified.

Mashiach Gathering Nations

As discussed last week, Mashiach will gather and nullify the Nations first, before he does so with Israel. This in our analogy is the unification of copper in gold.

This is because the donation of silver is exactly half shekel for each of the 603,550 donors, but this is not the case for either gold or copper.

The gold donation at 29 talents 730 shekels would be 29 x 3000 + 730 = 87,730 shekels of gold, which would average out to be 0.1453566… shekel per donor, which is an irrational number.

Similarly, the copper donation at 70 talents 2400 shekels would be 70 x 3000 + 2400 = 212,400 shekels of copper, which would average out to be 0.3519178… shekel per donor, again the number is irrational.

It is only when copper comes together with gold as a unity that they are matched to the “half” completeness of the silver in talents, as can be illustrated as follows:

The total shekels in this union become 3130 which translates into 1 talent and 130 shekels. Since 1 talent is 3000 shekels, this effectively renders the union into 100 talents and 310 shekels of gold + copper:

The “atbash” of Yeshua has a gematria of 129, adding 1 for unification of gold with copper, 130 is exactly the shekel of gold and copper in unity.

While the unified gold + copper in talent now match that of the silver, still, the difference in shekels is:

1775 – 130 = 1645

In other word, a total sum of 1645 shekels of gold + copper are required in order to result in exactly “half shekel” donations of gold + copper for each of the 603,550 donors.

This means that there are 1645 x 2 = 3290 individuals that are required to make such “half-shekel” donation in gold + copper.

3290 = 47 x 70

Where 47 is the ordinal number of Jacob, as discussed above, and 70 alludes to the 70 nations. This comes to teach us that this lacking can only be filled by the union between Israel and the nations.

Additionally, 47 is the gematria of “nullification” בִּטּוּל, i.e. the nullification of the 70 nations is the prerequisite for such union to take place.

The act of donating the “half shekel” in essence is the nullification of the self.

Gold, Silver and Copper

100 symbolizes perfection in unity as it is 10 (sefirot) squared.

Once the nations (copper) are elevated to 100 by the Mashiach (gold), to the level of Israel (silver), the final unification between Israel and the nations can then take place.

If we spell out the three metals and examine their gematria:

489 is the spelling out of gold: this is the gematria of God, Mashiach, Man, alluding to Mashiach being both Son of God and Son of Man, i.e. being the intermediary between God and Man:

301 is the spelling out of silver: this is the gematria of fire אֵשׁ, and “the house of Jacob is fire” (Obadiah 1:18) וְהָיָה בֵית-יַעֲקֹב אֵשׁ, which fire is used to purify the silver.

1290 is the spelling out of copper: this is 129 x 10, where 129 is the gematria of Yeshua in “atbash” (as above), hence the elevation of the nations is only through Mashiach.

2080 is the sum total: this is the triangle number of 64 (sum of 1 to 64). The concept of triangle number represents a process, and 64 is the sum of Adam and Eve, the first couple:

This comes to teach us that 2080 represents the process of the rectification of the entire human race, as symbolized by Adam and Eve, which rectification takes on two paths, that of Israel and 70 nations, which two paths are to be ultimately unified by Mashiach and in Mashiach.

The Pillar

The pillar in the courtyard is made of shittim wood, with a copper socket at the bottom, and a silver hook at the top.

Silver (Israel) and copper (nations) represent a dichotomy in their natural state of being, which could not otherwise be harmonized except when joined by Mashiach, as symbolized by the pillar in the courtyard.

The gematria of “the hooks, the pillars and the sockets” הַוָוִים הָעַמּוּדִים וְהָאֲדָנִים has a gematria of 358, exactly that of Mashiach. This comes to teach us that the union is only possible in Mashiach as the pillar.

The 100 talents and 1775 shekels of silver is used for two types of objects: the 100 talents for the sockets of the 100 pillars within the tabernacle (Ex 38:27), and the 1775 shekels for the hooks of the pillars in the courtyard (Ex 38:28).

The socket at the bottom is lowly while the hook at the top is exalted. However, the lowly sockets are used within the exalted tabernacle while the exalted hooks are used without the tabernacle, in the relatively lowly courtyard.

The 100 talents (300,000 shekels) of silver used within the tabernacle were donated by 600,000 donors, while the 1775 shekels of silver used in the courtyard were donated by 3550 donors.

The 600,000 donors of Israel would represent the “core”, as there are 600,000 letters in Torah, while the 3550 donors of Israel would represent the “peripherals” that serve as the intermediary between the 70 nations and the more secluded camp of Israel.

The Mystery of the half shekel

This past week was Shabbat Shekalim, therefore it is most propitious to delve into the mystery of the half shekel immediately after Shabbat Shekalim.

The starting point is that the gematria of Shekel שֶׁקֶל is the same as Nefesh נֶפֶשׁ which is 430.

There are 5 levels of soul, of which Nefesh is the lowest and Yechidah is the highest, the intermediary is called Neshamah.

Yechidah is Mashiach, this is well established. When Yechidah is spelled out progressively and regressively as follows, the gematria is 222, which is the same as the first-born בְּכֹר:

The three possible spellings out of Yechidah have a total gematria of 2707, as follows:

2707 is the 395^th prime number (when 1 is counted as the 1^st prime), and 395 is exactly the gematria of Mashiach and Yechidah:

395 is also the gematria of Neshamah נְשָׁמָה, the intermediary level of soul between Yechidah and Nefesh.

The “half shekel” therefore represents the “half” of the whole, as Israel is only “half” complete until joined with Mashiach in union.

By donating half of one’s essence (Nefesh), one is effectively sacrificing the self-centeredness as part of the self-nullification in order to be connected to the other “half”, which is Mashiach.

Half shekel is called בֶּקַע, לַגֻּלְגֹּלֶת a beka a head (Ex 38:26), hence the half shekel represents each individual soul, anatomically representing the 4 levels of soul below Yechidah.

The Hebrew word “to head” לַגֻּלְגֹּלֶת, can be understood as to Yechidah the head, i.e. to elevate the 4 lower levels to the level of Yechidah. The gematria of לַגֻּלְגֹּלֶת is 496, the gematria of Kingdom מַלְכוּת.

Building the tabernacle is building the Kingdom, and the tabernacle symbolizes Mashiach, as established previously. By elevating one’s lower levels of soul to the level of Yechidah is essentially forming a connection with the Mashiach, and once such connection is formed, the person is as if born again into a new creature:

1541 is exactly the gematria of Israel יִשְׂרָאֵל, when Alef is counted as both 1 and 1000, symbolizing the final redemption and atonement of Israel by Mashiach, a new creature, as it were.
