Who says poetry and politics don’t go together? Here are three (angry) poems on Israel’s upcoming elections. It’s not a time to sit on the fence. Apologies for any offense.
PolitiPoem

The government failed,
on a massive scale,
ignored all the warnings,
that October morning.
They let the demons run wild,
killing man, woman, and child.
I couldn’t watch the videos,
it was all too hideous.
They compared it to Isis,
this Middle East crisis.
For us, it’s existential,
a fight for survival.
For leaders, it’s cynical.
The damage was ‘collateral’.
The war was financial,
the death toll, inconsequential,
the numbers, numerical.
What’s needed is a miracle,
or a peaceful revolution,
not a two-bit solution,
but a shift in direction,
more than an election.

No Netanyahu, Smotrich, Ben Gvir.
No Hamas, Hezbollah, or fear.
Can’t undo what’s been done,
by RPGs, grenades, and guns.
Even the Qataris’ millions,
can’t bring back the civilians,
whether Israeli or Palestinian,
Lebanese, or Iranian.
Today, land grabs and retaliations
prevent any reconciliation.
Don’t mention the occupation,
they want another generation,
to play a game made by liars,
each waiting for their messiah.
No such thing as ‘Israel’ anymore,
just two worldviews at war —
One is regressive settlers,
the other progressive protestors.
If you pray for ‘Salam’ or ‘Shalom’,
then grassroots change has to come.
And let the truth be known,
the government must be overthrown.

D-Mock-Crazies

Free Gaza from Hamas.
Free the PLO from Abbas.
Free Israel from Bibi.
Free Iran from the IRGC.
Free Turkiye from Erdogan,
Free the Afghans from the Taliban.
Free Yemen from the Houthis.
Free the White House from the Saudis.
Free Lebanon from Hezbollah.
Free us all from Qatar.
You see, entire populations are oppressed,
while the rest of us are depressed.
And why is the West so obsessed?
Where it’ll end is God’s guess.

Four More Years

Four more years, four more years,
four more years of perpetual war.
Four more years, four more years,
life’s too short for four more.

Four more years of lies,
Four more years of bribes.
Four more years of corruption.
Four more years of destruction.
Four more years of divide-and-rule.
Four more years of interrupted schools.
Four more years of speeches at the United Nations.
Four more years of no peace negotiations.
Four more years dismantling democracy.
Four more years without an inquiry.
Four more years of racist ideologies.
Four more years of f**kin up kids’ psychologies.

Four more years, four more years,
four more years to maim and kill.
Four more years, four more years,
four more years? Are you for real?

October, 2026.
