Postdoctoral Fellowship for Brazilians at Weizmann Institute
Applications are now open for the Paulo Pinheiro de Andrade Fellowship, a postdoctoral scholarship offered by the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and dedicated to Brazilian researchers. Candidates may apply until October 20, 2026.
Established by Marcos Pinheiro de Andrade and Vanessa Buchheim, the fellowship aims to support postdoctoral researchers from Brazil. It is open to all fields of study available at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
The program offers the selected fellow the opportunity to join a global and diverse community of renowned scientists for a period of two years, collaborating with leading research groups. The Weizmann Institute of Science is recognized as one of the world’s foremost centers for basic and multidisciplinary research. With English as its primary language, the Institute fosters a vibrant international culture. Working within its advanced facilities provides fellows with a solid foundation for professional development.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Brazilian citizenship or residency.
- PhD or MD from an accredited institution of higher education, or official confirmation of thesis submission.
- PhD confirmation received no more than four years prior to the designated start date of the fellowship.
- Postdoctoral research must begin within six months of receiving the fellowship (special circumstances may be considered).
Required Documents:
- Updated CV and list of publications.
- PhD certificate or thesis submission confirmation.
- Research plan (up to 2 pages).
- Two recommendation letters (one must be from the PhD advisor).
- Commitment letter from a potential host at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

- Apply for a postdoctoral position at the Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) through the WSoS online application system.
- Apply for the Paulo Pinheiro de Andrade Fellowship via the WSoS online CALLs system.
