Purveyors and defenders of culture
Culture is a fundamental part of national identity. Without culture, there’s no nation. The nation’s language, customs, and so much more, form a mindset of the citizens of that nation. Yes, we differ as individuals, but it’s virtually impossible not to be tainted to a significant extent, if you will, by the culture of our nation. The culture so deeply ingrained in us, we only see it when we travel across the world and are hit with a different culture, noticing how many things we take for granted are actually a result of cultural conditioning.
But even then, it’s highly unlikely we can get rid of our cultural influences and biases, because without these influences, we’d lose a major portion of who we are. Culture is fundamentally connected with our identity. Languages we speak shape our thinking. So, a native Hebrew speaker is going to have a much more personal and emotional relationship with Israel, because the words he or she uses in Hebrew are charged with emotions. They aren’t just dictionary definitions. These words conjure up images, emotions, associations, history. Tel Aviv is going to invoke powerful images, and not just another city on a map. A native Hebrew speaker is going to have dramatically different associations with the word, say, Poland, than a Polish speaker.
No wonder the victors often imposed their own language upon the defeated to reshape the identity of the defeated in the image of the victors. Not being able to speak one’s own language is a cruel, but effective, way to forcefully and punitively change the identity and, in time, allegiance, of the defeated.
That’s culture. Each cultural circle is like living in a parallel universe. Some universes are close, some are so different, there’s no link between them and they’ll never meet (Israel and Iranian regime are never going to have a dialogue because you can’t have a dialogue with someone who denies your right to exist). Iranian media refers to Israel as ”occupied territories” to a) show Israelis are on that territory illegally and are the aggressors and b) Israel isn’t a nation but a hostile entity which must be eradicated, because that’s the only way to liberate the region. That kind of mindset can’t be reasoned with. This propaganda paints Iranian regime as the liberators and useful idiots, opportunists and maniacs across the world cheer. Even if there was no Israel, Iran would find another excuse to target Jews across the world. As such, anyone with a modicum of intelligence knows it’s not about the so-called occupied territories – it’s about erasing a culture and identity off the face of the Earth.
Changing the most dangerous fanatics and enemies of Israel would require raising them in a completely different social setting. But that is something only God can bring about. For example, with God’s grace, reincarnating them as Jewish girls, be it in this dimension or some similar one, and forcing them to go through all stages of Jewish upbringing in Jewish households, including military service. That would work then but, clearly, would take years. Sounds surreal? Well, hence my mention of God. Then again, this hellishly humiliating scenario could be happening to the so-called ”martyrs”, and other particularly dangerous enemies of Israel, right now, or is going to when they depart this world.
What a morale boost to know such a scenario might be unfolding right now.
Women are the purveyors and guardians of culture, as well as language and virtue.
Women go through their own complex, at times coercive, and carefully-monitored, particularly by other women, cultural upbringing before they pick up the mantle of the defenders of family, language and culture of Israel.
Culture also means manners (including: all sorts of social and religious rituals, violin, piano, singing, dancing, among many other things) and women are held to a much higher standard in that regard, partly because women are expected to ensure that proper language (in this case: Hebrew which makes it even harder and more ceremonial, given how ancient and nuanced Hebrew is) is taught to the children. Women in the military serve as the guardians of not just borders, but of culture because it’s no secret that without women, there’s no nation. A woman’s role is a really responsible one and not every woman might appreciate being thrust into that role of virtue and giving birth to new generations of Jewish people, but if it’s God’s will to thrust someone into that role, then throwing tantrums and trying to trick God won’t help and can only make things worse by going against God’s plan (even if it’s seen as a punitive plan) for a particular person.
