Quiet

Silence

Not me
Not you
No one talks
No one listens

Just quiet
A chance
To ponder

About
Life
Family
Justice
The poor
And needy

Quiet
Can you hear
In the quiet
The sound
Above

*****

The above poem is what I think about when I think of ‘A moment of silence.’

The Lubavitcher Rebbe encouraged instituting a daily silent moment in public schools.

And then to publicize in newspapers and the like, that parents can tell their children what to think about. Beginning with that there is One Above Who conducts our lives, and the lives of our family and friends.

The Rebbe said, that when we do so, we won’t have to worry about delinquency.

A daily silent moment. Imagine how much good it can accomplish.
