Racist Israel wrongly sentences Islamic Sheikh to jail

The terrible country of Israel dared today to sentence Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel to eight months in jail for incitement to violence. Salah’s sentence was due to his speech encouraging Muslims to stop Jews from visiting Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism, “with your bodies.” After his speech, the Jews were stoned by Muslims, and multiple Israelis were hurt.

During the trial, the Judge noted he spoke of “blood” and “martyrs”, and Salah has previously been arrested for hitting a member of the security forces. Salah has called Israeli leaders “terrorists” and urged supporters to start a third intifada in order to “save al-Aksa Mosque, free Jerusalem and end the occupation.” The man has previously been convicted in Israel of funding Hamas, and accused Jews of using children’s blood to bake bread.

This preacher entered Israel on the Mavi Marmara, the flotilla, where countless Israeli soldiers were injured. Salah was put in jail for these actions and then gave a speech where he said “Zionism which began in Turkey would end in Turkey.” In 2011, Salah said at Tel Aviv University “We must keep fighting until we remove the Israeli occupation and free the holy Jerusalem.”

Surely, if Israel would only return the occupied West Bank then there would be peace in the entire Middle East and no reason for a holy sheikh to behave in this manner.

As we learn from the media, Israel is a racist nation who oppresses the Muslims. Of course, it’s non-democratic for daring to put a Sheikh in jail simply because he exercises his right for free speech.
