Real Estate vs Real People

I suppose Ferdinand and Isabella are laughing in their graves. Jews “relocated” – so what? There is even a hilarious (tragicomic in context) feullitone written in Poland in the 1920s about Pharaoh arising from his grave and wondering whatever happened to the Israelites. He is told of their many expulsions, and that every Pesach they curse him. Pharaoh exclaims: “Me? I tried to keep them?”

Now we have the most “historic” circus ever, where two “leaders” try to out-con each other and we end up with Mar-a-Lago-a Gaza. Wonder who sees a potential golf course there.

Our PM has praised “out of the box” thinking. But what about “frozen heart” or “inhuman” or just plain “out of his mind?” What a sad, tragic expression representing a people who have known so many “out of the box” even “final” solutions.

As an Israeli (for a mere 4 decades) I feel I must express protest and outrage. People in Gaza are people. We have had our problems with them, for sure. But we can never accept a demonization or dehumanization even of our enemies. We know only too well where that leads.

I have only one word for Mr. Netanyahu: SHAME!
