Thank you for joining me, on a 29 days journey as we undertake a “cheshbon nefesh,” “accounting of the soul.” We will ask questions covering 29 traits, or middot one for each day of the month of Elul.

Derech Eretz

We must conduct ourselves in a way that does not offend those around us. This is called Derech Eretz; respect you parents, your kids, respect the elders and teachers and respect the laws of the land in which we live.

Do you respect the law?

Self-reflection brings perspective to our lives. It helps us learn, grow, appreciate and understand. When we fail to reflect on our lives, we lose perspective, get caught up in things that don’t matter, and often lose sight of the things that are most important.

What Is Self-reflection? השתקפות עצמית

Self-reflection is the process of diving deep into your thoughts, emotions and motivations and determining the great, “Why?” behind them.

Self reflection is a gift to yourself. Take the time to think about, meditate on, evaluate your behaviors, thoughts, attitudes, motivations, and desires.. You may also wish to keep a list of people from whom you need to seek forgiveness, and another list of those you wish to forgive.
