The Hypocrisy of the World: When Israel Defends Itself, It’s a Crime — When Jews Die, It’s Silence

The hypocrisy is nothing short of staggering.

Every day — on social media, in protests, and on international news — we hear the same chorus: “Israel is bombing us, Israel is committing genocide, Israel is brutal.” And the world buys it. The International Criminal Court (ICC condemns), ambassadors are summoned, and fundraising campaigns surge in support of the so-called “innocent, peace-loving Palestinians.”

Organizations like UNRWA, Oxfam Novib, and Amnesty International trip over themselves to paint Israel as a heartless aggressor, while portraying Palestinians as helpless victims of a one-sided war. But let’s pause for a second — because here’s the truth they won’t tell you.

Why is Israel bombing Gaza? On October 7th, 2023, Hamas — a recognized terrorist organization — led a monstrous massacre against Israeli civilians in the southern border towns. Alongside “innocent” Palestinian civilians, including children recruited as tools of terror, they tortured, slaughtered, and kidnapped innocent men, women, and children in the most horrific, medieval ways imaginable. That is why the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are striking Gaza today.

But let’s be clear — Israel does not bomb randomly. The IDF drops leaflets, makes phone calls, and opens safe humanitarian corridors urging civilians to evacuate before military operations begin. There is no military on earth that makes greater efforts to avoid civilian casualties — yet no other military is vilified like the IDF.

And yet… Social media still floods with venomous lies like this:

“Dropping American bombs on defenseless civilians, babies, children, and women, committing genocide, bombing hospitals to force doctors and patients into torture centers—these are just some of the atrocities of the Israeli terror gang. You can no longer cover up these crimes with your propaganda. The puppets, supporters, and followers of genocidal Israel, regardless of their labels, are terrorists and accomplices to the crime of genocide.”

No context. No history. No mention of the 30,000+ rockets fired into Israel from Gaza since 2005. Let’s check the facts: After Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in 2005, hoping for peace, what followed wasn’t peace — it was war. Hamas turned Gaza into a launching pad for terror. The Iron Dome, Israel’s life-saving missile defense system, has intercepted thousands of rockets that didn’t care whether they landed on Jewish or Arab Israeli homes — because a rocket doesn’t discriminate.

Major Rocket Attacks on Israel:

  • 2008–2009 (Operation Cast Lead): 3,000 rockets in 3 weeks.

  • 2012 (Operation Pillar of Defense): 1,500 rockets in 8 days.

  • 2014 (Operation Protective Edge): 4,500 rockets in 50 days.

  • May 2021 (Operation Guardian of the Walls): 4,300 rockets in 11 days.

  • August 2022 (Operation Breaking Dawn): 1,100 rockets in 3 days.

  • October 7, 2023: 5,000 rockets in a single day — plus a terrorist invasion.

And where was the world’s outrage? Where were the ICC condemnations? Where were the urgent calls to summon the ambassadors of Jordan, Iran, Yemen, and Syria — the countries funding, enabling, and celebrating this terror?

When Jewish lives are taken, it’s barely a headline. When Israel defends itself — then comes the outrage. This is the world we live in. And it’s shameful.

We owe it to truth and justice to stand firm with Israel. To call out the lies. To hold terrorist sympathizers accountable. To demand consistency from international institutions. Because no nation should have to apologize for defending its people — and no people should have to beg for their right to live in peace.

About the Author
CEO of Time to Stand Up for Israel, a nonprofit organization with a powerful mission: to support Israel and amplify its voice around the world. With over 200,000 followers across various social media platforms, our community is united by a shared love for Israel and a deep commitment to her future. My journey as an advocate for Israel began early. When I was 11 years old, my father was deployed to the Middle East through his work with UNTSO. I had the unique experience of living in both Syria and Israel, and from a young age, I witnessed firsthand the contrast in cultures and realities. That experience shaped me profoundly. Returning to the Netherlands, I quickly became aware of the growing wave of anti-Israel sentiment — and I knew I had to speak out. Ever since, I’ve been a fierce and unapologetic supporter of Israel. I’m not religious, but my belief is clear and unwavering: Israel has the right to exist, and Israel has the duty to defend herself. My passion is rooted in truth, love, and justice. I’m a true Zionist at heart. From my first breath to my last, I will stand up for Israel.
