Israel. A modern day miracle.

There are many things to be happy about.

But here’s something.

When I was younger, the Lubavitcher Rebbe once told me: “Tsuzamen mit di simcha fun dain yoim moiledes, iz der Aibishter freilich mit dir.” (Together with the happiness of your birthday, G-d rejoices with you.)

The Supreme Creator of everything, Who is greater than we can imagine, shares in our personal happiness. Like a father. Like a very close friend.

And it’s reciprocal. “Israel will rejoice with their Maker.” (Psalms 149; 2) As the world transforms into a dwelling place for G-d, as we perceive G-dliness everywhere in everything, the Almighty rejoices. And we too rejoice and share in His happiness.

And soon, in the complete and final Redemption, “our mouths will be filled with laughter, our tongues with joy.” (Psalm 126)

Because when Moshiach comes, we will experience the ultimate closeness with G-d. In a world where “no nation will raise a sword against another,” (Isaiah 2; 4), and the “entire world will be filled with the awareness of G-d, just as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11; 9)

May it happen very soon.
