Sonnet for v’Zot haBracha

Torah Parsha in Verse 5784

Sonnet for v’Zot haBracha

Now Moses physical end had drawn near;

Moses’ Aliya request refused, yet his acceptance sincere,

His blessings for each tribe are bestowed by God,

As Moses does in prayer, each tribe laud.

Each day is a gift for our mission anew;

Our journey, one more chance, to ourselves be true;

What gifts do we have on others to flow?

That which, like fountains, God gave us to bestow.

As blessings which irrigate the land with life,

We, on earth, must eliminate our strife.

As copartners with God, we must restore,

All which God so graciously gave us, and more.

If we, our part, do fulfil and complete,

The mission set for Eden is replete.
