Souls of six human candles plus two lit tunnels

Of darkness, despair and deprivation

Changing space and time to eternity,

Kindled a symbol of “Or haGanouz”,

G-d’s eternal light, first in Creation

To ignite the fire of the human spirit,

“Human breath is G-d’s breath,” Divine candle,

Emanating from “Yotzer ha’Adam”.

A Prayer for International Human

Rights Day, for each human is an entire world.

Ilan Ramon’s diary found, read:

“From our perspective here in space,

Borders, full of peace and splendor.

Our hearts carry a prayer that all humanity,

As one can imagine the world as it appears

Without borders and can strive to live together in peace” with G-d as the Shamash (the guardian).

Asaf Ramon reflected

His father as he too fell and rose

To help ignite the tunnels’ Hanukkiah.

Also in memory of those murdered on Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, as they lit Hanukkah candles.

And my mother, Dr. Lena Allen Shore, partisan during the Holocaust, professor, writer, poet, composer, whose yahrtzeit is on the first day of Hanukkah.
