South African Academics meet Einstein at Hebrew U
Recently the South African Friends of Hebrew University organised a tour of South African academics to Israel. University staff that attended included many top institutions from around the country including the University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, University of Stellenbosch, University of Pretoria, Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Venda, the University of Cape Town as well as some government research entities.
The group met a variety of actors in the Israeli start up eco-system and examined spaces for co-operation in the academic space. The South African Friends of Hebrew University also held an event with the University of Witwatersrand Alumni Association. about Israeli water technology in Africa.
As part of the engagement the head of Research News Africa Simon Gear did an interview with Dr Roni Grosz who is the curator of the Einstein Archive at Hebrew University. The interview was about his life and times and connection to Hebrew University. It was a fascinating and worth a listen.
