I am honored to be preparing for a podcast conversation with Susan Kokinda, a political commentator, organizer, and thinker associated with Promethean Action.

Susan Kokinda is not a typical media pundit. She represents a school of political and economic thought that sees today’s events not as isolated headlines, but as part of a long historical struggle over sovereignty, industry, finance, empire, and national destiny.

Promethean Action describes itself as a movement dedicated to “defying oligarchy” and unleashing human creativity. Promethean Action has spent decades arguing for the revival of the American System: industry, infrastructure, productive labor, scientific progress, tariffs, national banking, and the rebuilding of the real economy.

Kokinda herself is described as a Michigan-based organizer committed to reviving the industrial economy and producer culture of the Midwest. That is crucial. Michigan is not just a state. It is a symbol. It represents the America that built cars, factories, tools, machines, and a middle class. It represents the America of production, not speculation.

Her message is that America’s crisis is not merely political. It is economic, civilizational, and historical.

The American Revolution Did Not End in 1783

One of Kokinda’s central themes is that the American Revolution was not only a war against British rule. It was a battle over what kind of economy and society mankind should build.

Would America become a sovereign republic based on production, invention, and the dignity of labor?

Or would it be pulled back into a financial empire run through debt, speculation, manipulation, and global control?

This is where Kokinda’s analysis becomes provocative. She argues that British imperial influence did not disappear after America won independence. It changed form. It moved through finance, diplomacy, intelligence networks, global institutions, and economic policy.

This is why her insights matter for Israel.

Israel often sees the world through immediate survival: Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, missiles, diplomacy, and American support. But Kokinda pushes the conversation deeper. She asks: Who is shaping the strategic environment behind the scenes? Who benefits from permanent war? Who benefits from weakened nation-states? Who benefits when America is deindustrialized, distracted, and divided?

Those are not small questions.

Why I Want This Conversation

As a rabbi, filmmaker, writer, and Israeli voice, I approach politics from the reality of Jewish history. We know what it means when empires rise and fall. We know what it means when nations lose moral clarity. We know what it means when elites speak of peace while ordinary people pay the price.

Susan Kokinda brings another dimension: the American battle over economic sovereignty.

Together, our conversation will not merely be about politics. It will be about civilization.
