Welcome to my new Tech Leaders Interview Series, where I interview impactful leaders and ask them to share tips and techniques that have benefited them, both in their personal and professional lives.

This interview is with Guy Bloch, the CEO of Bringg.

About Guy:

Guy Bloch has nearly 20 years of experience leading large organizations in the global enterprise software market, transforming them into highly successful hyper-growth environments. He joined Bringg after spending six years in senior leadership roles at Splunk (Nasdaq: SPLK), including COO EMEA and Area VP of Sales, after previously serving in leadership positions at HP Enterprise, Appilog, and Emblaze. Guy has an MBA from New York Institute of Technology and a BA from Ben-Gurion University.

Q: What are your main productivity tips?

A: To build a strong team of professionals, develop a culture with a growth mindset, delegate ownership, empower your teams to make decisions and be creative and support them by paving the road and trying to remove obstacles in their way. It’s a numbers game, but it’s the people that move the numbers.

Q: What is your favorite drink?

A: Coldwater. Yes, I know, but it’s simply tasty:)

Q: How do you deal with stress and anxiety?

A: I am not afraid to feel fear as long as I carry on. I constantly work on self-awareness to help me see what is driving my worries. Is it pressure and stress? Is there a real threat or risk I need to respond to accordingly, or is it a change or new experience I’m going through that makes me feel uncomfortable.

Q: Your tips for aspiring entrepreneurs?

A: You must have grit. Be passionate and love what you do, be determined that no matter what obstacles you run into, you will carry on and develop resiliency no matter how hard the journey is. Behind every challenge and fear, there is an opportunity to break a glass ceiling and achieve great new heights.

Q: Who in the Tech industry would you like to meet for lunch?

A: I would love to sit down with Marc Benioff of Salesforce. It has been so inspiring to see how he built one of the leading tech companies in the world starting from day one with a very clear vision to change the world of technology by introducing the concept of cloud and no-SW approach.

Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

A: Israel. I have spent nearly 20 years living in NYC, and while I enjoyed my experience a lot, since coming back to Israel with my family five years ago, I have never thought of going back or leaving. Israel is home.

Q: What is your favorite book recommendation?

A: Stealing Fire by Steven Kotler and Jamie Wheal. The book deals with how top performers harness rare and controversial states of consciousness to solve critical challenges and outperform the competition.

Q: Why are you in Tech?

A: Technology is changing the world and has a deep impact on people’s lives. With the massive digital transformation the world is experiencing today, technology presents an enormous opportunity for great innovation and creativity to do good. I cannot think of another space I would rather be in.
