Texas Governor Rick Perry to Israeli startups: Come to SXSW

In late October, I was fortunate to meet with Texas Governor Rick Perry for a breakfast meeting in Jerusalem with OurCrowd’s Jon Medved.
We spoke about the startup economy, how to align Texas and Israel further, and attracting more Israeli companies to the the annual Interactive / Film / Music festival that takes place every spring in Austin Texas known as SXSW.
In the months to come, I will be posting content about SXSW, as well as covering Israeli companies and individuals who will be coming to Austin March 7 – 16. (If you are an Israeli company looking to be discovered and covered in advance of SXSW, please reach out to me – alan at weinkrantz dot com.)
Team Israel / Houston is Here For You
I am also collaborating with the wonderful team at the Government of Israel Economic Mission – U.S. Southern Region in Houston so that we can help those who are coming from Israel to SXSW to join in for a terrific private networking event to help both emerging and established Israeli tech start-ups in business development, partnerships, investors, and much more.
Reach out to their wonderful team here.

We Do Deals
As Governor Perry says in the video, when you come to SXSW, sure there’s lots of fun, lots of parties and terrific programming. And there’s lots of deal flow with many startup pitch events, VCs and Angels looking for the next big thing.
If you’re looking to really break out from the pack in 2014, I hope you’ll consider making SXSW 2014 part of your plans.
And if time allows, you’re all welcomed to come to where I am based – San Antonio – about 80 miles south of Austin. You can connect with other startups where I office at Geekdom, and dine on some of the finest Mexican food in the world.
Watch for more content and information on SXSW in the months ahead.
