That Butterfly
Oh little Butterfly
Bring me with you
In your flight
Free me from this place
Where people only die
A place that is
Worse than hell
You greet death
As a graceful friend
Because it is the only escape
From this nightmare
That never ends
I feel the cold concrete below
As I’m walking down
The wind kisses my lips
As I go in
To that shower I see
That Butterfly who greets me
And tells me to join in
It’s dark and crowded
And the gas fills in
My mom hugs me
And kisses my cheek
But I’m not scared
Because the Butterfly is there
And now I can follow her
To that peace,
Away from this place
In the loving memory of the six million Jews who where killed in the Holocaust. Today we remember, we will never forget.
