The Age of Miracles Is Here

On May 12, the UN notified the world of a miracle.

Without fanfare or thanksgiving prayers for the amazing miracle, the UN halved the number of civilian deaths in Hamas’s Islamist war against Israel. From the constantly reported 14,500 toll of child fatalities, the figure was now magically halved to 7797. From the previous 9500 toll of female civilian fatalities, the UN miracle halved that figure to 4959. So either the UN can deliver fantastic miracles, or the UN is staffed by magicians. Of course, there is a possible third explanation: that the UN abysmally failed for 7 long months to properly investigate and report actual facts rather than enthusiastically parroting Hamas propaganda. Because the Israeli military has consistently reported that the civilian death figures in Hamas’s war on Jews are transparent fabrications, inflated by about 40 percent.

But that’s not the only miracle of the past few days
Information that did not exist a week ago has suddenly been retroactively known to the US for weeks and months. It’s nothing short of an info-miracle.

White House officials announced that the US has in-depth intelligence about the location of Hamas terrorist leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif and their kidnapped Israeli human shields – including some with dual US citizenship. The US also suddenly has knowledge of the exact route of several major Hamas attack tunnels. However, the US is only willing to trade this information in exchange for Israel undertaking not to attack Rafah and root out Hamas’s last remaining military assets there. Read that again: the US has intel on avowed anti-Semitic mass-murderers and the Israeli and US civilians being used by Hamas as human shields – yet the US refuses to divulge this information without bartering with Israel to save Hamas and earn Biden Islamist and Leftist votes in the upcoming elections. Biden and Sinwar both use Jewish lives as bargaining chips to realise their political goals.

And there are more miracles. Eurovision is one of them
Against an international onslaught of rabid vilification, bomb threats, massive demonstrations and 11th-hour attempts to get Israel banned from participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, Israeli singer Eden Golan delivered a polished performance and miraculously took 5th place, up from the predicted 8th. In a world first in the entertainment industry, she had to take special lessons in how to continue singing in the face of noisy abuse, shouting and heckling. In a further miracle that confounded radical expectations, host country Sweden’s televoting public gave Israel the maximum of 12 points, while Sweden’s official Eurovision jury gave Israel the minimum of zero (0) points. It underlines the vast chasm between the noisy Islamists and anarchists supporting the “pro-Palestinian” (read anti-Semitic) mobs and the quiet but determined Swedish public which voted the way most people here actually feel. Eden Golan deported herself with impeccable grace and poise before, during and after her performance, handling interviews with admirable aplomb and quiet tact, never rising to the bait by increasingly frantic journalists desperate to portray anything Israeli in a negative light. One can only hope that Israel’s politicians take note of the 20-year-old singer’s admirable diplomatic skills and that they learn from her how to conduct themselves in public.

And then there’s the logic-defying miracle that is Rashida Tlaib
Logic-defying because of her closed mind, overt bigotry, poison tongue and open embrace of anti-Semitism. Tlaib demands that the ICC (the International Criminal Court) issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other high-ranking officials of the Jewish state. Tlaib makes no demand for ICC arrest warrants for Hamas dictator Yahya Sinwar following his massacre of 1200 people in Israel on October 7. Nor for arrest warrants for Russian dictator Putin following his ongoing war on Ukraine. She makes no demand for the ICC to issue arrest warrants for Turkey’s Erdogan who has the dubious distinction of having arrested the most journalists in the world. No arrest warrants either for Iran’s Khamenei regime whose national sport is to hang gays, shoot political dissidents, and sexually assault and then behead girls who do not dress the way the patriarchy demands. No demand for an ICC arrest warrant for the Butcher of Syria Bashar Assad, nor for the serial mass-murderer Kim Jong-un of North Korea. There’s a term that describes people who target only Jewish individuals, Jewish institutions and the world’s only Jewish state, while giving every other faith, ethnicity and nationality a free pass. That term is “anti-Semite.”

The miracle here is that Tlaib, despite the obvious cognitive disadvantage that prevents her from differentiating between actual reality and fabricated narrative, has nonetheless managed to insinuate herself into such a high position in US politics. Then again, she is part of Joe Biden’s Democratic party, itself a hand-me-down from the dismal Barack Obama years that saw planeloads of used, unmarked dollar bills being flown to Iran in an attempt to appease the ayatollahs. That appeasement saw the Iranian regime fire more than 320 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones at Israel last month. Appeasement – the miracle that never stops giving more misery and more loss of life.

The biggest miracle of all is that Israel is still here, still thriving, still garnering massive – although often quiet – international support. Despite some of her “friends” and “allies”.

Israel has changed – fundamentally and permanently
There’s one crucial miracle on the wish-list of political analysts: that Israel’s partners in dialogue finally realise that Israel today is fundamentally – and permanently – different to the Israel of October 6, 2023. Today’s Israel has fully internalised that there will be no Israel with the continued existence of Hamas control in Gaza. Israel’s detractors criticise the Israeli government’s aims of “wiping out Hamas” as unachievable. But these are just words. The words are irrelevant, the intention is everything. The world did not destroy Naziism in 1945. But it did permanently destroy the ability of Nazis to ever again gain a state foothold anywhere on this planet. It’s the same goal that Israel has regarding Hamas in 2024. Hamas will never gain a state foothold anywhere on this planet. Nothing will stop Israel’s determination to root out Hamas’s terror state and its military capacity in Gaza.

A world community that does not internalise this simple lesson won’t be saved by even the most amazing of miracles. It’s a world community that will instead be in permanent thrall to demagogues, despots, racists, rapists and mass-murderers. As well as the biggest scourge of all: naïve, self-congratulatory, delusionary, reality-spurning Western bigots masquerading as “liberals” and “progressives”. Some of whom even manage to get elected to political office in countries that do not dare protest their infiltration.

As the past few months of demonstrator mayhem in the West have amply shown, these people are neither liberal nor progressive. They are racist and destructive. And there’s no miracle cure for that malady.

Apart from serious jail time. Or deportation.
