The Consequences of History

The Forward named Michael Oren one of the five most influential American Jews, and the Jerusalem Post listed him as one of the world’s ten most influential Jews. What follows initially is extracted from his book, “Ally”, described as at once a record, a chronicle, and a confession.

Netanyahu’s 1st meeting with Obama went smoothly. But the press was quick to emphasize the tenseness of the 2 leaders’ body language and their presumed disagreements.” Obama insisted on the cessation of all settlement activity, opening Gaza’s borders, and creating a Palestinian state, but Netanyahu said only that the Palestinians should govern themselves.

Barak Obama reaffirmed his intention to reach out to Iran and put no time limit on the negotiations, while Netanyahu merely thanked him for keeping all options on the table.

On June 4, when Obama met a group of Middle Eastern students in Cairo, he “more passionately than ever, described his personal connections with Muslims and his conviction that “Islam is part of America”.

More jarring was Obama’s exchange with Malcolm Hoenlein, the perennial executive of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. Hoenlein insisted that Israelis took risks only when they were convinced that the United States stood with them.

Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff in the Obama Government, as well, telephoned saying, “America is Israel’s thin blue line”, and he warned: “don’t cross it.”

“I was deep in conversation with David Axelrod, the president’s senior advisor, listening to his complaints about our policies, while trying to remind him that Israelis respond more to embraces than to abrasiveness. ‘Try love’ I said.
“A Mandate for Terror – The United Nations and the PLO” by Harris O. Schoenberg was published in 1989. This remarkable book [570 pages] is a powerful expose, by a man who lived the story and how and why the UN, the foremost legitimizing authority in international affairs, embraced the PLO and licensed it to kill.

Faced with an imperative to combat terrorism, the UN General Assembly instead, in effect, endorsed it. At the 1st Jonathan Institute Conference on terrorism [created by Benjamin Netanyahu], held in Jerusalem on July 1979, the late Senator Henry M. Jackson, after declaring that “every free nation” must work against” efforts to define away terrorism, offered a clear distinction between terrorists and freedom –fighters:

“The idea that one person’s ‘terrorist’ is another’s freedom fighter’ cannot be sanctioned. Freedom fighters or revolutionaries don’t blow up buses containing non-combatants: terrorist murderers do. Freedom fighters don’t set out to capture and slaughter school children; terrorist murderesses do. Freedom fighters don’t assassinate innocent businessmen, or hijack and hold hostage innocent men, women, and children: terrorist murderess do. It is a disgrace that democracies would allow the treasured word ‘freedom’ to be associated with the acts of the terrorists.”

Surprisingly, President Chaim Herzog’s famous speech to the UN, “Zionism is Racism” on Nov. 10, 1975, is not recorded in the subject book. However, Ambassador Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s address to the Assembly on the same day is. His words ring true.“The United States rises to declare before the General Assembly of the United Nations, and before the world, that it does not acknowledge, it will not abide by, it will never acquiesce in this infamous act.”

Further, he said, “Now I wish it to be understood that I am here making one point, and one point only, which is that whatever else Zionism may be, it is not and cannot be a form of racism. In logic, the State of Israel could be, or could become many things theoretically including many undesirable things. But it could not be and could not become racist, unless it ceased to be Zionist.

The terrible lie that has been told here today will have terrible consequences. Not only will people begin to say, as indeed they have already begun to say, that the United Nations is a place where lies are told, but far more serious, grave and perhaps irreparable harm will be done to the cause of human rights.

Is Barack Obama aware of this history? Would he have read the given book? He does not appear to have left a significant legacy. What we do know is the following:

[a] He never wrote a legal brief. [b] He never argued a case in Federal Court on a constitutional question or any other question. [c] He never wrote a constitutional law review article or any other law review or comment, Supreme Court brief or book about any constitutional issue.[d] Why would it be said that he is a constitutional scholar of any type at all? Because he taught some classes?

In Trump and the Jews, author David Rubin dedicates an entire chapter to Obama named “The Obama Years.”

“You know, I think I am the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat in this office. For people to say that I am anti-Israel, or even worse, antisemitic, it hurts.” [Barack Obama, in White House conversation with then Chief of Staff David Axelrod].

Obama’s two famous speeches speak volumes about him. “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer. [Cairo speech 2009].“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. [Speech, at the UN 2012].

Obama staked positions on Israel that placed him on the Far Left of the Israeli political spectrum, and perhaps even further. Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff, was like the ‘Wicked son” of famed Irgunist, Dr. Benjamin Emanuel and graced the designated political spectrum.

Obama’s claim to fame was the embrace of the Islamic world which for the most part was at war with Israel. Earlier on in his role as president his very public tour of Islamic countries and televised interviews praising Islam demonstrated making it clear that America’s international relations had entered a new era.

Unlike his predecessors, Obama was determined to show that the Islamic was actually a friend of western civilization. He was the 1st American president who had close alliances with avowedly anti-Israel, and ante-American, Arab-Americans. Rashid Khalidi, and Edward Said come to mind. The latter was known to have a carefully constructed image as an oppressed, poor Palestinian who was driven from his country, in order to bash Israel in high academic and political circles, the truth about Said was finally revealed following the publication of his autobiography. He was raised in very privileged Egyptian and American homes!

But what is maybe not known is the close relationship Obama has with Rashid Khalidi. Obama served as a paid director on the board of the Woods Fund- a Chicago-based non-profit organization – along with unrepentant ex-terrorist William Ayers. This terrorist group [Weather Underground] intended to overthrow the US government and took responsibility for bombings at NY City Police headquarters in 1970, the US Capital buildings in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972!! This disgusting individual’s response, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” [September 11, 2001].

“No no, no. Not G-d bless America. G-d damn America. That’s in the Bible. For killing innocent people. G-d damn America for treating citizens as less than human. [Pastor Jeremiah Write, 2003 sermon at Trinity United Church of Christ]. This individual was Obama’s and mentor for 20 years. In time Obama resigned from his church and repudiated the statements of the pastor who had married him, had baptized his daughters, and had been the inspiration for his book titled, “The Audacity of Hope.”

“Israel experienced 8 years of intense pressure to freeze the building of Jewish homes in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem. A 2016 survey showed that Jewish Israelis ranked Barack Obama as the ‘worst US president in relation to Israel in the last 30 years—-63% of Israelis put Obama in the ‘worst’ category, while 16% rated Jimmy Carter as the 2nd ‘worst’ president.”
“Nothing Abides” by Daniel Pipes also has a Chapter dedicated to Obama. It is titled, ‘Barack Obama’s Muslim Childhood [2012].

Obama acknowledged numerous connections to Islam but denied being a Muslim. “The only connection I’ve had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father’s side came from that country [Indonesia] he stated on December, 2007. But I’ve never practiced Islam—For a while I lived in Indonesia because my mother was teaching there. And that’s a Muslim country. And I went to school. But I didn’t practice.”

Likewise, he said in February 2008: “I have never been Muslin—other than my name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for 4 years when I was a child I have very little connection to the Islamic religion.”But many pieces of evidence argue for Obama having been born and raised a Muslim:[abbreviated]

[1] Islam is a patrilineal religion: In Islam, the father passes his faith to the children; and when a Muslim male has children with a non-Muslim female, Islam considers the children Muslim. Obama’s grandfather and farther being Muslims—-the extent of their piety matters not at all—means that, in Muslim eyes, Barack was born a Muslim.

[2] Arabic forenames based on the H-S-N trilateral root: All such names [Hausayn or Hussein, Hasan, or Hassan, Hasanayn, Ahsan, Muhsin, and others] are exclusively bestowed on Muslim babies.

[3] Registered as Muslin at SD Katolik Santo Fransiskus Asisi: Obama was registered at a Catholic school in Jakarta as ‘Barry Soetoro’. A surviving document correctly lists him as born in Honolulu on August 4, 1961; in addition, it lists him having Indonesian nationality and Muslim religion.

[4] Registered as Muslim at SD Besuki: Although Besuki [also known as SDN 1 Menteng] is a public school, Obama curiously refers to it in Audacity as ‘the Muslim school’ he attended in Jakarta. Its records have not survived, but several journalists [Haroon Siddiqui of the Toronto Star, Paul Watson of the LA Times, David Maraniss of the Washington Post] have all confirmed that there too, he was registered as a Muslim.

[5] Islamic class at SD Besuki: Obama mentions [Audacity] that at Besuki, ‘the teachers wrote to tell my mother that I made faces during Koranic studies.’ Only Muslim students attended the weekly two-hour Koran reports.

[6] Mosque attendance: Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s younger half-sister, said her father[namely, Barrack’s stepfather] attended the mosque ‘for big communal events’, Barker fund that ‘Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers.

[7] Muslim clothing. Adi recalls about Obama, ‘I remember him wearing a sarong.’

[8] Piety: Obama says that in Indonesia, he ‘didn’t practice [Islam]’, an assertion that inadvertently acknowledges his Muslim identity by implying he was a nonobservant Muslim.

In summary, the record points to Obama having been born a Muslim to a non-practicing Muslim farther and having lived for 4 years in a fully Muslin milieu under the auspices of his Muslim Indonesian stepfather. For these records, those who knew Obama in Indonesia considered him a Muslim.
.
The issue is Obama’s having specifically and repeatedly lied about his Muslim Identity. More than any other single deception, Obama’s treatment of his own religious background exposes his moral failings.

“In conclusion, available evidence suggests that Obama was born and raised a Muslim and retained a Muslim identity until his late twenties. Child to a line of Muslim males, given a Muslim name, registered as a Muslim in two Indonesian schools, he read Koran in religion class, still recites the Islamic declaration of faith, and speaks to Muslim audiences like a fellow believer.

The greatest mystery of all, with all his baggage, how was he able to be crowned President?
