The Criminal Mind

When I was in college, I became fascinated by psychology.  I took a class in schizophrenia and later in abnormal psychology.  Much of the coursework dealt with the minds so distorted that understanding how or why they function, reached the bounds of impossibility.

When I started practicing law, the federal court where I had clerked encouraged young lawyers to take Criminal Justice Act cases.  These were cases where we were paid by the government to represent people who committed crimes at places like Lewisburg and Allenwood Penitentiaries.  Early on in my career I represented two men accused of murder.  Over the years I represented assorted others, until I finally got burned out representing people for whom moral values were totally absent.

In spite of having a great deal of knowledge about the European Jewish Holocaust, nothing could completely prepare me for October 7, 2023, in and around the Jewish communities of Sderot, South Israel.  We thought the worst days of man’s inhumanity to man was behind us, notwithstanding what we knew about Isis, Al-Qaeda, and other terrorist groups.

There are some who are shocked by the fact that the Hamas terrorists filmed their brutality and frequently uploaded the video to the cellphones carried by their victims.  The perpetrators of the crimes against humanity were proud of their actions but, more importantly, they wanted to intimidate and, as they put it themselves, “dirty” the women, children, and elderly Jews who lived in the small farming communities near Gaza.

Those of us who have read and studied the testimony of the terrorists themselves, listened to the pathologists who have examined the bodies of the victims, and listened to the words of the few escapees, are hesitant to repeat what we have learned.  Perhaps the best explanation was written by a woman who describes herself as a religious Muslim but is also a doctor, Qanta A. Ahmed.  She went to an Israeli center for identifying the dead and although she has worked with many victims of terrorism in the Muslim world, she was not prepared for what she saw.

What drives men, sometimes children as young as the age of 10, not merely to shoot and kill children, women, and the elderly, but to abuse them in ways difficult to describe?  Women were not only serially raped, but we now know that many of the terrorists had sex with the corpses.  Men and women both had their genitals removed and, in many cases, adults were murdered in front of their children.  Other testimonies have revealed terrorists tying children to their parents and burning them alive.

Terrorists themselves have said that they committed these atrocities to “dirty” and “degrade” the Jewish people.  The real goal of terrorists is to instill fear in those who have not yet become their victims.  As Democratic Speaker Hakeem Jeffries said at the Israel rally in Washington D.C. on October 14, 2023, the Jews have been driven out of every land, not only Eastern and Western Europe, but also the Middle East itself.  It is the goal of the Jihadist fundamentalist terrorists to drive the Jews out of the Holy Land as they have done in the past.

Those who celebrate the works of Hamas deny the truth, even when it is based upon Hamas bragging about their crimes. Those supporters are nothing more than accessories after the fact to genocide.

For those of us watching television and checking our social media, the sense of horror at our fellow Americans rooting for war criminals is an experience difficult to accept.  There are many in the world, especially in the Middle East, who deny the Holocaust.  The leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, wrote his thesis on the subject of denying the Holocaust.  Never mind that Americans in the streets supporting Hamas are pairing themselves with the decedents of those who plotted with Adolf Hitler to murder all the Jews in the Middle East, after the German monster was done with his genocide in Europe.  The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the head of Islam in the Middle East, conferenced with Hitler, planned with the monster, and was at the base of operations to defeat the British and the Americans in North Africa and the Middle East.

Those who are marching in American and foreign streets, proudly proclaiming the bravery of rapists, child molesters, and abusers of the elderly are the heirs and best friends of the Nazi monsters that all rational people abhor.

Perhaps even more shocking is the aid and comfort given to genocide by American educational institutions, especially at universities and colleges.  We have permitted a cancer to infect our institutions of higher learning, all in the name of Critical Race Theory.  Perhaps it is time that American education was less critical and less race conscious and instead return to the goal of equality under the law.

Martin Luther King, who proudly proclaimed himself as Zionist, must be rolling over in his grave.  What a disgrace to see African Americans, gay and lesbian people, and those who have faced discrimination themselves shouting slogans utilized by terrorists who have committed the worst crimes civilized people have ever witnessed.  They are not America.  American voters and what is often called “the silent majority,” will rise up and show their anger at the polls.  Perhaps it is time to defund universities and colleges that do not conform themselves to civilized notions of human dignity, fairness, and equality.

The war against Gaza would be over instantaneously if all the hostages would be released.  The war should not be over under those circumstances.  Even if all the hostages were released, Israel must still destroy terrorism within its mist.  Nevertheless, even to end the war and save themselves, Hamas Jihadists will not part willingly with their hostages.  Keeping the hostages is for Hamas a victory.  The hostages are their strongest weapon, and, without the hostages, the remainder of the Hamas army would be crushed.

Let us not forget that the so-called innocent people of Gaza stood in the streets and celebrated as naked hostages were paraded through the streets, abused, and mistreated in the most degrading manner.  The people of Gaza kicked the heads of decapitated victims.  The good citizens of Gaza cheered on their sons, some of whom were children themselves, butchered an innocent farming population in Southern Israel, some of whom were at a love and peace music festival.

We have yet to address the question as to whether there really are any innocent Gazans?  They too are an instrument of war utilized by Hamas, to the apparent delight and encouragement of some in the Western World.

The world has empowered the mass destruction capable of being caused by regimes like Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and their likes by feeding the monster with money.  We in the United States, and the rest of the west, have appeased the multi-headed demon.

A reckoning awaits the west which hopefully will begin sooner rather than later.  The barbarians are at the gates, and it is almost too late to save ourselves, the west and what remains of the Judeo-Christian ethic.
