The Day I Became a Dog
The other day I went to the neighbourhood parkland for my walk. I saw a young man with his dog entering the area. The moment he picked up a dried piece of stalk, the dog’s joy knew no bounds. He ran galloping to the middle of the ground, sat there posing like Sphinx, facing his master and waited anxiously. The master walked casually biting an apple and then threw the twig as far as he could. The dog ran fast, picked the twig up and galloped around the ground in excitement. At some point he brought the twig back to his master and then galloped back to the open space, sat like the Sphinx and waited anxiously for the next throw. It went on for a while.
I stood there motionless sharing the dog’s joy, thrill and exhilaration. I was lost in myself not knowing who was who.
