The Destructive Power of Words
The repercussions of Israel’s military response to the Oct7 massacre did not cause antisemitism, it exposed it. Considering the recent spate of murders and attacks against Israelis and Jews, we must confront the escalation of terror with renewed vigor and redoubled resolve. As the Jewish sage Hillel the Elder said, “If not now, then when?”
Synagogues and other Jewish institutions require metal detectors and armed security personnel but not so mosques, churches, mandirs, and temples. Think about that.
Yet the media and other left-leaning organizations caution us to not engage in Islamophobia, or any other form of religious discrimination, as if the incidences of rhetoric inciting physical attacks against Jews is equivalent to that of other religions and minorities. There is decidedly no equivalency!
Until we condemn and act against hooligans dressed up as terrorists, by donning keffiyehs, hiding behind balaclavas, and echoing the mantras of Palestinian Arab terrorists, assaults against the Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against the false canards against Israel of genocide and apartheid, while excusing the calls for the extermination of Jews throughout the world as free speech, the murders and assaults against Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against calls for a ‘global intifada,’ which is a dog whistle for the extermination of Jews worldwide, the murders and assaults against Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against exhortations of ‘from the river to the sea,’ which call for the elimination of the Jewish state of Israel, the murders and assaults against Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against letting Middle Eastern funds flow into our universities and colleges from oil rich bad actors, the murders and assaults against the Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and stifle hate speech laced with incitement to violence against Jews, the murders and assaults against Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against the vicious lies of outspoken antisemitic members of Congress like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar and their ilk, the murders and assaults against Jews will continue to metastasize.
Until we condemn and act against the lies of outspoken antisemitic groups, which deceptively pose and posture as pro-Israel by adopting Jewish sounding names like: Jewish Voice for Peace, American Council for Judaism, Independent Jewish Voices, Judaism on Our Own Terms, and Jewish Socialist Federation, the murders and assaults against the Jews will continue to metastasize.
Our sages teach that what G-d created with words, mankind can destroy with words. And it is for that reason that words, not bombs, are the most powerful weapon of mass destruction.
Having failed to drive the Jewish people from their ancestral homeland through a series of failed wars and continuous acts of terror, Arabs, Muslims, and their Marxist supporters routinely launch antisemitic canards, along with missiles, against Israel and the Jewish people. That gaggle of Jew haters fabricate fictions, lies, and falsehoods, which they employ as weapons.
The defense against lies is an Iron Dome of Truth. But that is insufficient to protect the innocent from the murderous intentions of antisemites. Truth can be employed as a defensive weapon but we must bolster it with the deterrence of unencumbered military strength.
The Koran instructs that non-Muslims should not rule Muslims and because radical Islamist believe it is their holy obligation to adhere to that theological decree, and if we ignore and tolerate that diktat it will result in our detriment and regret.
While the West innovates, the Middle East stagnates, while the West progresses, the Middle East regresses. Entrepreneurs in the West create marvelous technologies, conversely, Middle East oligarch regimes scheme to dismantle them.
Karl Marx, the father of Marxism, one of the most destructive ideologies to have contaminated the world opined “nations sow the seeds of their own destruction.” I hope America awakens before the seeds of radical Islamism germinate and take permanent root in our soil.
