The Divine Blessing Awaits our Flight from Ego

Torah Portion for Toldot

A blessing is bestowed; how is it received

For it to come to pass as thus pronounced?

That depends on every one of us; Do we

Make ourselves fertile to accept its essence?

The Giver is Divine but the receiver is human.

The blessing remains in time and place,

Awaiting each one of us to unfold,

Prepared in ourselves for its anxious treasures.

The Divine blessing awaits our flight from ego

To fulfill our potential as to who we must become

For Jacob to reach his inward destination;

Thus, for Israel to receive its God-given blessing

As a Kingdom of priests, a nation of prophets,

And, as a united light, unto the nations.
