The Future Awaits Registration,

Thus To Live History in Three Tenses

(Reflections on the Haftorah for Torah Portion Shelach)

( Joshua 2:1-24)

To be chosen for a stellar mission

Is to be devoted to its purpose.

Forbearing each step with its ultimate goal,

Divinely guided to its set outcome.

The chosen number designated, marks

The need for confidence, based on experience;

Knowledge of precedent is foreshadowed,

In recognition of writing chronicles;

The future awaits registration;

That is to live history in three tenses.

Yet, the present in “Hineni” affirmation

Is as Abraham and Moses, on call;

Ready for assignment as instruments,

In time and place for the blueprint to be realized.
