The Great Threat: Woke Driven Acquiescence To Islamic Jihad
Between 1232 and 1243, Europe, and Western Civilization was on the cusp of coming out of the so called ‘dark ages’ and embarking on intellectual growth, the Renascence, and, eventually the ‘Industrial Revolution’ in the age of ‘Reason’. This was delayed for two reasons. One, the onset of the Black Plague, devastating nearly one third of Europe’s population, and, Two, the invasion of the Golden Horde: The Mongols.
It took nearly a century of death and misery to exit from these twin calamities.
There is similar pattern emerging in the 21st Century. First there was Covid. Thanks to modern medicine, this was a quick resolve, not without misery and death, of course, but nothing like Bubonic plague. Invasion, on the other hand is still rampaging across the globe. Not by the Mongols, but by something even more insidious: Globalized Intifada: The Islamic Jihad.
I won’t go into the details of its scope and spread, but know this! It has spread across the planet from the Middle East to the Pacific, and across the ‘pond’ from Europe to North America. It is in our schools, our cities and towns, our streets and especially our governments. It is being given a boost by a woke driven behavior known as ‘compassionate overreach’.
Compassionate overreach has its heart in the right place, but there are no red lines to mitigate this ‘group emergence’ phenomenon. In the film Dr. Zhivago, Alec Guinness states “One man desperate for firewood is pathetic, five million people desperate for fuel will destroy a city.” “Compassionate Overreach” is a diplomatic term, not a psychological reference here. It is applied to ambassadors, negotiators, and foreign office personnel, during their quest to enact treaties, negotiations, and compromises with other state leaders. Trying to see the other side and finding non-violent solutions to geo-political issues. It is destroying our civilization. Again, their hearts are in the right place. But Western morals work in mature, logical societies. They DO NOT work creating solutions face to face with barbarians. Barbaric societies put no value in a piece of paper. They gladly sign their names to documents with the intent of placating their opponents for the moment, and go right back to doing whatever they do. Ideology drives their motives, and Western compassionate overreach takes their word. It works…until it doesn’t.
Hitler and Chamberlain, Obama and Iran, Israel and the seven front monster, Russia and Ukraine, I think you get the point. In the West, we are so sure of our moral decisions that the devil in the details wreaks havoc and releases the dogs of war. That war is now being fought on college campuses, corporate boardrooms, and government chambers. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. Ceasefire in Donbas, billions in aid to terrorists in Gaza, ten-year moratorium on nuclear enrichment? We are so proud of our morals! The enemy has crashed through the gates already.
Here is what we are up against. Bear with me for a moment on a short refresher course of Islam. Not the Holy Books of the Quran, or the six books of commentary called the Hadith, I refer to the extra-judicial pronouncements and interpretations made by Islamic leaderships and Clerics throughout the centuries that followed.
Shia and, to much extent, Sunni belief, is based on two simple concepts. One—Dar Al Islam (the house/abode/world) of Islam. And two—Dar Al Hrab (the house/world) of war. This ideology is the umbrella cover of all Islamic behavior since the 7th Century. Understand something! Not all Muslim people are warlike or aggressive, in fact the majority are good people. But here is what this context means. Either a non-Islamic people, Jews, Christians, Hindu, etc., accept Islam and Mohammed as the prophet, or they die, and all that land becomes forever Islamic. This does not come from the Quran or the Hadith. It is a culmination of centuries of twists and turns by cleric interpretation that has resulted in Isis, Hamas, Hezbollah, The Muslim Brotherhood, Alkaida, Boco-Haram, and others.
They only understand force. Negotiations from a woke perspective of ‘compassionate overreach’ is fruitless.
I feel absolutely heartbroken about the hostages and please don’t shoot the messenger here, but Netanyahu is absolutely correct in his overall strategy. Hamas MUST be completely eliminated. That means those people will come home in body bags. That really hurts! Yes, I know, you can’t kill an ideology, and a whack-a-mole Jihadist group will pop up soon after. I also know that people in Israel, and around the world, want Bibi out. Trump is not very well liked here in the States either. But know this:
Leftist acquiescence to tyranny has to stop! Junk the mind-set of ‘compassionate overreach’ and let the leaders we don’t like do the job we won’t do. Barbarians have no compassion of any kind! Bibi has 10 million Israelis and their future with which to contend. Trump has 330 million Americans, Europe has 350 million! Clean out our campuses and houses of legislation. Is it too much to ask for our future to actually teach history in schools again? It’s not nice, and it will hurt. The alternative is much worse, like a 13th Century De-ja-vu all over again.
