I Told You So

About a year ago, I vividly remember a conversation with an elected official in New York (a republican and conservative endorsed politician ) and I brought up concerns regarding local elections in 2025 and congressional races in 2026. It was soon after Trump won and both the  Senate and House turned republican red.

I remember the VIP inauguration ball that Mayor Eric Adams attended and the discussion among attendees was that because he was connected with President Trump and his team, his reelection bid was almost a certain win.

Months before the primaries in New York City and the surrounding four boroughs, I sat at a meeting with republican leaders and remembered a warning about the announcement of a little known assemblyman named Mamdani. One literally laughed in my face.

I warned about Jewish influencers and content creators, many of whom started talking politics only to get into organization events and get the attention of the Trump team, advocating for Mayor Adams. They probably didn’t even know his name when he ran previously. 

Mayor Adams raised millions from Jews, especially those more religious. Mayor Adams had Jewish staff reach out to influencers offering to host parties and give proclamations as if this made a difference to most voters.

Adams lost big in the primaries. He made the choice to be an independent. He also had competition.

Andrew Cuomo was to be the “comeback prince” after the success of President Trump’s “greatest comeback in history” victory. Cuomo received the money and endorsement from past presidents, billionaires and public figures. Primary night was supposed to be his, especially with the help of many republican voters and community leaders.

Cuomo lost, Adams lost and somewhere in the minds of phony self proclaimed political strategists, 2025, was the year to change history. They never learned the lessons of supporting Ralph Nader and Ross Perot. In America, third party candidates don’t win!

Adams continued to base a campaign for Jewish influencers and partied with them as if it was an award season in Hollywood, even with awards. When he finally ended his campaign, way too late, he handed the Jewish campaign and an endorsement to Andrew Cuomo.

Their campaigns forgot three important messages:

• Republican voters, especially those in elected offices and their own neighborhood groups vote RED, listening to county chairs, committee members and local elected officials like assembly representatives and legislators.
• Jews make up a minority of votes and most Jews are not Orthodox. In fact, many Jews don’t even vote!
• Again, third party candidates don’t win in America. More important is the demographics of voters in democratic states. The heavily populated areas are likely to not include American born voters and their reasons to vote are different from “Yankees.” They don’t care about family dynasties in American politics and see rich people as their foe. Most find themselves connecting with fellow voters to have a common interest, hating Israel and thinking Jews are rich, greedy and evil, without befriending one or visiting Israel.

Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo were never going to win.  Hopefully, they learned their lessons and will end their political careers. During their individual tenures, they weren’t so good to Jews!

New Jersey

There should be a law in both parties. When you lose two times for the same political position two consecutive times, you shouldn’t be the nominee for a third time!

Jack Ciattarelli ran for governor in 2017, losing in the primary and again in 2021, losing to incumbent Phil Murphy.

I pointed it out to many people but they didn’t want to listen. The excuses this time included that it was an open seat and Jack got the Trump endorsement. Scott Presler made a career of bragging about how he garnered new republican voters.

I still said it wasn’t going to be enough!

Again, Orthodox Jews were highlighted in campaign ads and endorsements. Even President Trump tweeted about the religious Lakewood vote.

Volunteers were asking me to push Jack. I knew it was a losing battle.

You Get The Point

I hate to say it, but I was right. Read past articles, listen to past interviews. Politics is a business with a history, not an Instagram reel.

Politics is not Orthodox Jews, or any Jews for that matter.

Politics is about bringing ideas at the right time, raising money and working together with the grassroots. It’s coalition building and understanding that in order to win, you have to work 24/7.

The only people to blame are the national republican organizations that focus on seven states every four years!

The biggest winner of the 2025 elections is the Independent Party as many, dissatisfied with the extremes of both parties, will change their affiliation to Independent and keep private their own views and votes.
