The Kosher Duck Revolution

There’s something wonderfully charming about the whimsical tradition of hiding ducks anonymously—whether on cruise ships, strangers’ Jeeps, or other unexpected corners of daily life. Inspired by this playful trend, I decided to put a uniquely Jewish spin on it, creating the “Kosher Duck Revolution.” Little did I know the profound impact such a simple, joyful act could have.

When I first started placing my kosher-themed ducks around town and on cruises, I intended merely to spread positivity and perhaps inspire a smile or two. But the response exceeded anything I could have imagined. Among the countless heartwarming interactions was a memorable encounter aboard a cruise ship. A woman, deeply moved by discovering one of my ducks, posted a beautiful heartfelt message in a “Cruising Duck group of over 300k members. I had to message her letting her know how she touched my heart. She later shared about the Jewish neighbors from her childhood in Costa Rica, filled with warmth and nostalgia.

This heartfelt conversation quickly blossomed into a meaningful friendship. Together, we attended a Shabbat service onboard, connecting instantly as if we’d known each other forever. She shared vivid stories

of kindness, community, and connection from her youth. Together, we laughed, we cried, and we bonded over our shared hope for unity in these challenging times. This encounter reminded me powerfully of the beauty and strength inherent in our Jewish community and its supporters worldwide.

This unexpected friendship illustrated precisely why the Kosher Duck Revolution matters. Each duck is more than a quirky token; it’s a gentle invitation to engage, connect, and foster understanding across different communities. It’s about proudly showcasing our Jewish heritage, sparking meaningful conversations, and building bridges of support and understanding among diverse groups of people.

You, too, can join the “Jew Crew” and be part of this delightful revolution. It doesn’t matter your age or your artistic ability—everyone is welcome. Create, hide, share, and spread the word. We’ve even started a dedicated Facebook group where you can gather inspiration, showcase your designs, and celebrate these heartwarming moments.

To clarify a few essential points: participating in this joyful project won’t convert anyone to Judaism, solve global conflicts, or provide kosher culinary options. Instead, our ducks offer —laughter, hope, and a touch of unexpected kindness. These little ambassadors carry our love for Israel, our rich culture, and our unwavering optimism for the future.

Together, we have the power to create ripples of positivity, spark countless meaningful connections, and encourage conversations of unity and support. I invite you all to take part, to smile, to share, and to love—one duck at a time. Join us in making the world just a little brighter. Join the Kosher Duck Revolution.

Thank you for embracing this delightfully “quakers” idea—equal parts crackers, crazy, and duck-quacking fun—and helping spread joy, love, and Jewish pride around the globe.
