The never ending farse of the UN Human Rights Council

I am ashamed that the UN Human Rights Council has once more decided to criminalize Israel, launching a commission of inquiry into alleged Israeli “war crimes”. Only the Unites States opposed this decision, which has been approved by the vote of 29 out of 47 member States. Among the counties that abstained, to my great shame, there is also Italy.

The prejudice is the same that led also the 2009 Goldstone Fact Finding Mission, which the South-African judge himself has subsequently dismissed. Then Italy, to my great pride, voted against a shameful and blatantly untruthful report.

This time as well the truth is there for anyone who wants to see it: Hamas is doubly responsible for this war: not only because, without any previous provocation, keeps on firing thousand of missiles on the Israeli population aiming at the killing of civilians, but also because it uses its own civilians, women and children as well, as human shields to protect the terrorists on it territory.

There are so many evidences of this repugnant behavior the IDF is contrasting with loyalty and commitment to avoid as many Palestinian civilian victims as possible. This moral attitude is paid with the life of Israel’s best sons: they are already 32 in number since the beginning of the Protective Edge operation.
