The New Hijackers
In common verbiage, “Hijack” primarily means to seize control of something — a conversation or plan — for one’s own purposes.
A more detailed breakdown would describe it as “Taking control of something.” A person might “hijack a conversation by interrupting and changing the topic to focus on themselves, or someone could hijack a plan by taking it over or altering it for their own benefit.
From the 1970s onwards, airplane hijackings were the preferred method of Muslim terrorists to hit back at Israel and draw attention to their cause. In reporting and describing the hijackings, the perpetrators were referred to as Extremist Muslim Terrorists.
The slew of terrorist hijackings culminated in their attack on the USA in New York on the World Trade Center, as well as the Pentagon, on September 11, 2001, by the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization led by Osama bin Laden. This attack left thousands of civilians dead, and we had no problem, at the time, calling those Hijackings an act of Terrorism carried out by Extremist Islamic Muslim Terrorists.
That attack was considered an act of war, and Muslim Terrorist fanatics were waging the war against targets of opportunity to promote their cause.
The USA, as was its right, used all means necessary to find and punish Osama Bin Laden, which it did.
The 9/11 attack resulted in increased airline security worldwide as well as increased security around buildings and vital installations in a way that made similar terrorist attacks much more difficult to execute that airplane hijacking all but faded away!
In the years since, there have been a slew of terrorist shootings worldwide: at schools, markets, synagogues, clubs, as well as various other Jewish institutions. The perpetrators have been either killed or caught, — forgiven, idolized or martyred — but few have been punished as the woke movement that had taken hold of the countries where these acts occurred was too scared to offend their Muslim populations. They’ve been Hijacked.
Since then, terrorists have found a more sinister method of getting their message across in a far more dangerous and insidious way than airline Hijackings.
Fast forward to October 7, 2023.
This was the attack on Israel by Hamas Terrorists and launched from Gaza that resulted in many deaths — gruesome, barbaric, violent, appalling, and some beyond the ability of normal people to comprehend.
The attack was reported in some media as such: “Hamas, and several other Palestinian military groups launched a coordinated, armed incursion from Gaza into Israel.” Could this report have been any more bland and sanitized to describe such a barbaric act?
That “incursion” by any measure was an act of war!
I’m reminded of the late comedian, George Carlin, when he did his bit about how we frame things these days. To soften the language, make the reality less real and politically correct! Don’t offend anyone, make everyone feel better, even though we’re talking about terrible or horrendous acts of violence. Case in point. Soldiers returning from battle in World War I had what was termed Shell Shock, morphed into Battle Fatigue in World War II and morphed again after the Korean War into Operational Exhaustion and eventually after Vietnam into PTSD — post-traumatic stress disorder.
An armed incursion into Israel from Gaza by Hamas Terrorists killing indiscriminately in the most vile way and taking civilian prisoners. A terrorist attack.
“Can we soften a ‘terrorist attack’ into something more palatable than a terrorist attack so that the woke faction can feel better and not offend the terrorists? Let’s Hijack that truth.”
Hamas has been described as the largest and most capable militant group and the largest political party in the Palestinian territories.
It’s fascinating that they can be called a “militant group” and a “legitimate political party” in the same sentence. Let’s sanitize the description to make them seem legitimate. Hijack the truth!
Aside from this horrendous terrorist act, it was also an invasion of a sovereign country, and this, unless circumstances have changed and political correctness has prevailed, is an act of war. Hijack the definition of war!
So, Israel was attacked by Hamas, and when Israel responds, it is going to war, and it does so intending to defeat the attacker and ultimately win the war.
For some reason, it appears more palatable to couch this in terms of anything but a war.
For some reason, the world seems to gloss over the Israeli loss of life that resulted from this Islamic Terrorist attack!
Hostages were taken. Soldiers, civilians, men, women, and children, both Israeli and American. They were hijacked.
So, all of the above brings me to how the world view has been hijacked in a new form since the airplane hijackings.
To try and reframe the action of Hamas as anything but an act of terrorism and declaration of war, and their actions since the attack, to try and justify it, is ludicrous.
It is a Hijacking of the truth.
University faculty members, senior members of staff and principals all in some way attempt to appease students by trying to legitimize and frame the terrorists’ actions of October 2023 as being justifiable.
Why are the protesters masked? Are they actual students? Are they concerned that they’ll be exposed for not being students? Or are they reverting to Hijackers of old who wore masks so they could not be identified?
Are the universities and faculty so weak and so terrified of their Muslim students and sympathizers and their financial contributions that they’re paralyzed into doing nothing but to agree and acquiesce? If so, they’ve been Hijacked!
I ask myself the question: How is it that all these academics, educators and teachers of higher learning are not able to come out with a statement of condemnation of the actions of Hamas? How about initiating a debate or dialogue on campus between the two sides? Is this not what education is about? Would that set a good example? We’re talking about a new kind of Hijacking: the Hijacking of our minds and the minds of those in charge of our institutions of higher learning. Our students are being indoctrinated to believe that these actions by Hamas are OK. This new kind of Hijacking is, in many ways, far scarier than the physical Hijacking of an airplane. It’s trying to reframe a reprehensible act by trying to legitimize it – hijacking it!
The USA and many Western countries are at war, without knowing it yet. We’re battling Extreme Muslim Terrorists!
In the UK and the EU, the Muslim populations are growing at a rate so much faster than that of the host country. Madrassas — Muslim schools — numbers are growing faster and faster. The curriculum of regular schools is being altered in a way to rewrite history and, in some cases, eliminate some of the classes and events that might offend the Muslim students, so they’ve been taken out of the curriculum. Hijacked.
We are scared of calling these protesters terrorists, although that’s exactly what they are. They’re not blowing up planes and buildings, but they are Hijacking our minds and those of our children.
They’re well organized, prepared, funded, and ready at a moment’s notice to gather and protest — to proclaim whatever they want to put forth as their version of reality — they are the new Hijackers.
Our university campuses have been Hijacked!
The message of these protesters: ”from the river to the sea” etc., “spontaneously” got shouted at all the campuses that allow these demonstrations. The timid and frightened response by the college faculties and their inability and reluctance to call out these attacks on Israel for what it was speaks volumes about the new form of Hijacking. That of our youth and heads of higher education, who are scared to offend anyone – except Jewish students!
For the protesters and agitators to proclaim that they’re not anti-Semitic, but only anti Israel is ludicrous! Like saying I’m pro Catholic but anti Vatican.
To say nothing is to condone, and that is what’s happening here and worldwide. This type of Hijacking requires the same backing, resources, planning and execution that it took to hijack an airplane, just a different method and a different vehicle to get that same message across.
We in the West continue to play a game of checkers, thinking that we’re quite smart, while the enemy, and yes, they are our enemy, are playing chess, and they’re winning.
It is slow, it is strategic. It is long-term goal-oriented, and it will work unless we wake up and take a stand, not against Islam, but against Extreme Radical Muslim Terrorists who manifest themselves in many forms and whose goal is what it has been for many years. That of a new Caliphate!
Many look benign or many evoke sympathy, and many are students. Many are teachers, professionals, but rest assured, there is a plan! When they hijack our youth, we become victims of the plan.
Maya Angelou famously said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
How many times do we have to hear “death to America,” “death to the great Satan, death to the little Satan” before we start to believe what we’re hearing? Take notice! Do not be a victim of Hijacking!
When Israelis and Jews the world over, hear “from the river to the sea” etc., they are hearing about the next Hijacking as well as a stated goal!
The truth of the matter is that Israel was attacked and invaded by Hamas, and in so doing, they declared war on Israel. I refuse to believe that their actions on that day were not an act of war, and how it was carried out was not an act of terrorism!
Hamas understood quite well that an attack like this would provoke a retaliation by Israel of such strength, determination and magnitude. They also knew that they could hijack world opinion once again to favor the Hamas attackers! They were quite prepared, knowing the response, to sacrifice with prior knowledge and put in harm’s way many numbers of their own population: men, women and children, all non-combatants, to further their cause and Hijack world opinion.
This is exactly what is happening. The Western world is being Hijacked by Muslim extremist terrorists, and if the rest of the Muslim world is not prepared to take a stand and speak up, not be manipulated, not have their children Hijacked and stolen from them to be sacrificed in the cause of Radical Islam and take its place with the rest of the civilized world, the end will not be pretty. To see it or classify it or frame it in any other way is being naïve, disingenuous and extremely dangerous.
Our universities and schools are being Hijacked.
Our religion and history are being Hijacked.
The Holocaust is being Hijacked!
Our culture is being Hijacked!
Our way of life is being Hijacked!
At what point are we going to stop being afraid of offending the sensibilities of the Hijackers and their acolytes and call it for what it so obviously is?
Muslim extremists committing acts of violence, barbarity and subversion to further their own agenda in the name of the Muslim religion, while nowhere in the Koran does it condone such acts — is a hijacking of their own faith!
