From chamber wall to chamber wall
naked souls upon naked souls
their bodies on this eternal Chanukah night, a Human Menorah.
Their flame, their chanting last words of the Shema, the essence of the Jewish Heart – the Torah
In a fog of a never ending hopeless moment Mothers clutching to their breasts their babies
Fathers enveloping their innocent ones
the rain of gas set their last breath to flame
to blaze across time as nameless names
Each a candle burning into the endless night these Six Million flames of Holy Light to give us purpose and sight
Flame. Hugs. Screams.
Prayers. All at once their Souls ascend as timeless Dreams.
There is no death
Their last breath now an Eternal Light
Holy and Pure as pressed oil
For nothing of them was in vain – their lives, their dreams, their burdens and toil
Each Chanukah their Souls travel from house to house
to aflame with each and every Menorah
to ignite and rededicate our heart and love – our life – our breath – our lovebond to our Everlasting Torah
Our Everlasting Torah
