The stage is set, as US and Israel confront Iran
It all seems surreal. Anything can happen. Tensions are high.
With no deal in sight, and with elections looming in Israel and the US, Trump said that he’ll wait till after the US elections for a possible strike on Iran.
But now the Houthis attacked Saudi Arabia’s airport, killing twelve and injuring three hundred. Trump has indicated that he might now attack the Houthis.
Trump has threatened, on numerous occasions in the past, to bomb Iran, and then he didn’t. So what he’ll do now is anyone’s guess.
But either way, whether he attacks now, or maybe after the elections, the air is tense. With Iran’s leadership apparently fractured and divided, the prospects of striking a deal seem remote. On the other hand, if Iran just wanted to wait till after the elections to make a deal, then maybe that will happen, and the war will end.
Or maybe Trump won’t attack, and will wait for the economic blockade to pressure Iran.
Everyone watches. The players are in position. Everyone feels that something’s gotta give. But no one knows what.
No one knows, if everything will be resolved peacefully, or militarily.
As we all sit and wonder, here’s a suggestion: We can trust in G-d, and feel confident that He will continue to protect Israel and civilization.
