The Two-State Illusion
Victor Sharpe’s, “The sordid 100 year history of the two-state solution ” was published by JNS on November 20, 2022. Commencing with the Balfour Declaration of Nov. 29, 1917, he reminds us of the last minute addition of Article 25. Its inclusion regarded by some as a betrayal.
In time it became apparent that its inclusion directly enabled Great Britain in 1921 to tear away all the territory of geographical Palestine east of the River Jordan and gave it to the Arab Hashemite family .The territory named Transjordan, led by emir Abdullah took place
Prior to this, the London Times in an editorial thundered, “The Jordan will not do as the eastern frontier of Palestine Palestine must have a good military frontier east of Jordan, Our duty is to make the Jewish Palestine not a struggling state but one that is capable of vigorous and independent life.” This then became the 1st two-state solution.
During its administration up until 1947, Britain severely restricted the Jewish immigration and purchases of land while turning a blind eye to massive illegal Arab immigration into the territory from neighboring failed and stagnant Arab states. These illegal Arabs were to a large extent the originators of those Arabs who call themselves Palestinians.
The infamous 1939 White Paper followed, limiting Jewish immigration to a miserly 75,000 souls for the subsequent 5 years. On the eve of the outbreak of WW2, it was a death blow to millions of Jews attempting to flee extermination by Nazi Germany.
In 1948, Transjordan, renamed the Kingdom of Jordan since 1946, joined the other Arab nations in invading the Jewish state, and illegally annexed the biblical and ancestral Jewish heartland of Judea and Samaria, renaming it the “West Bank.”
Only Britain and Pakistan recognized the annexation. In the June 1967 Six-Day War Israel liberated Judea and Samaria from Jordan in a defensive war. It then foolishly offered to give away the newly liberated “West Bank” to the Hashemite regime in Jordan and the Gaza Strip to its erstwhile Egyptian occupiers in return for a full and lasting peace. In August, 1967 the Arab League delivered the infamous “3 no’s”
Israeli leaders should never have withdrawn from the Gaza Strip in 2005 and should never have accepted even one missile fired from Gaza at its citizens in southern Israel.
President Donald J. Trump is surely the most pro-Israeli U.S. president ever. He has led the world in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s undivided capital and has restored biblical Golan to Israeli sovereignty.
2017: President Trump recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
2018: United States opens embassy to Israel in Jerusalem and substantially reduces bilateral aid for Palestinians.
2019: President recognizes Golan Heights as a part of Israel.
2020: President Trump releases plan entitled Vision for Peace featuring terms generally viewed as favorable for Israel.
According to the late Shmuel Katz in his groundbreaking biography of the great Zionist leader Vladimir Ze’ev Jabotinsky, titled “The Lone Wolf,” Josiah Wedgwood said:
“This lesson I want the new Jewish nation to learn and to get by heart: Stand up for your rights. Let us have more of the spirit in the Jewish movement of my good and gallant friend Jabotinsky.”

Following 2 years of the Biden Administration, still no progress on resolution of the dysfunctional Two-State Solution. What are the possible reasons for this? It arises through the mouths of the Arab leadership. Dating back to Think-Israel’s May-June 2008 edition, “Hadrian’s Curse – The Invention of Palestine” by Tsafrir Ronen, one can find many insights.
The author’s brilliant analysis, commences with a referral to an exposure of the Big Lie of the “Palestinian cause” in a full length 120 minute documentary. The film will document that there never was a “Palestinian” people. Ronen asserts that the world has become so accustomed to the “truth” of the “Palestinian” perversion of history. “Propaganda has become a powerful weapon used by Israel’s enemies, the Arabs to try to conquer Eretz Yisrael without firing a shot, without an army, tanks or jets. His paper consists of 3 sections. Segments follow.
Part 1–The Secret All the Arabs Know.
In 1977, a member of the PLO, leadership, Zahir Muhsein , revealed the truth in an interview reported in the Dutch newspaper Trouw:
“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today, there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people , sine Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian to oppose Zionism—–”
In 1956, Ahmed Shukari, founder of the PLO from the podium of the UN proclaimed that “such a creature as Palestine does not exist at all. This land is nothing but the southern portion of Greater Syria—”
Mohammed Amin al Husseini deliberating on Eretz Yisrael in 1947 said, “An additional consideration of great importance for the Arab world is racial uniformity—-For that reason, it does not make sense that the United Nations should facilitate the establishment of a foreign entity within that well-rooted entity.”
Part 2 –The Arabs Ultimate Goal.
The prominent Arab historian, Dr. Philip Hitti, who expressed himself at the Anglo-American commission of inquiry in the State Department building in 1947 said, “Sir, Palestine never existed throughout history, Absolutely not!” Moreover, Professor Juhan Hazam, in his testimony before that same commission, added, “Before 1917, when Balfour made his declaration, there had never been a Palestinian question, and there was no Palestine as a political or geographic unit. In addition thereto, a local Arab leader, Abd al Mahdi, testifying before the 1937 Peele Commission stated, “There is no such land. Palestine is a term invented by the Zionists. There is no Palestine in the bible. Our land was for hundreds of years a part of Syria.”
Part 3–Will Israel finish Hadrian’s Work?
In the report presented in 1938 to the League of Nations, the British made it very clear: “The name ‘Palestine’ is not a country, but a geographic region.” The reporter and writer, Joan Peters, in her book, “From Time Immemorial”, writes,” The one and only identity never adopted [by the inhabitants of Eretz Yisrael] before 1967, was that of “Palestinian Arab”.
Will it be precisely the Israeli government that will resurrect Hadrian’s curse, previously lost in the depths of forgetfulness? Today, 1992 years later, it would seem that an Israeli Prime Minister [Lapid] could entertain what Hadrian failed to do – the erasure of Eretz Yisrael and the establishment of Palestine. The Emperor Hadrian is smiling from the grave.
Jerusalem Post :Daniel Grynglas’s ” Debunking the claim that Palestinians are the indigenous people of Israel” was published fairly recently, on May 12, 2015.
“But, there are no records to support the Palestinian narrative”. In history, art and literature, there is no trace at all of any Muslim people referred to by anybody as “Palestinians”. Records show that it was 19th and 20th century settlement and the resulting employment opportunities that drew successive waves of Arab immigrants to Palestine.
” in the Jewish settlement Rishon l’Tsion, founded in 1882, by the year 1889, the 40 Jewish families settled there, had attracted more than 4 hundred Arab families—–Many other Arab villages had sprouted in the same fashion,” [Joan Peters “From Time Immemorial, page 252.”
Peters calculated that in 1882, just the nomadic, settled Muslims in Palestine numbered 141,000. Among them, those that resided in Palestine before the 1831Egyptian invasion numbered 75%, or 105,700 [ Page 197]. By 2015, descendants of these 105,700 persons can trace their linage in Palestine for almost 200 years.
We 1st hear of Arabs referred to as “Palestinians” when Egypt’s President Nasser, with help from the Russian KGB, established the Palestinian Liberation Organization in 1964. All historic records indicate that only insignificant number of long term settled Muslims were present in Palestine before 1882, when the large Jewish immigration began.
It was only during the 1970s that the newly minted “Palestinians” began to promote their narrative through murder and assassination. The claim that “Palestinians ” are the indigenous people of Israel and that most of the present Palestinian Arabs have lived in the Land of Israel since time immemorial is a total fraud. Albeit posthumously, Joan Peters has had the last word on the subject.
Even the British understood the truth. In his Memoirs of the Peace Conference, Lloyd George commented; “No race has done better out of the fidelity with which the Allies redeemed their promises to the oppressed races than the Arabs. Owing to the tremendous sacrifices of the Allied Nations, and more precisely of Britain and her Empire, the Arabs have already won independence in Iraq, Arabia, Syria and Trans-Jordan, although most of the Arab races fought for Turkey—The Palestinian Arabs fought for Turkish rule.”
It is time for the Jewish leaders to argue Israel’s case on the basis of Jews alone being indigenous to the Land of Israel and for the Arab nations to promote the relocation of willing Palestinians to their countries of origin. In other words to bury the so-called “Two-State Solution”.
