The Weight of The World

Israel is in a full-scale war with Iran.  After 19 months of war with the murderous assaulting ring of fire nations which surround Israel…bought and paid for by Iran, it is now their turn to feel our wrath. It is only right that Iran, which has financed terror around the globe, should pay a heavy price. We in Israel have been paying dearly, for our continued existence for almost two years, and have been damned to high-heaven for having the audacity to defend ourselves. Those of us living through these difficult days in Israel fully understand that this is much larger than most of the world perceives. We “get it.” Slowly, slowly…some of the world leaders who have been intellectualizing their disapproval of our self-defense, are actually coming to realize the severity of the situation and how it will impact on their countries as well.  It is truly disturbing that they put on blinders for the past two years. Very few Presidents or Prime Ministers had the required courage to look the Iranian evil in its face…to stand up against the regime which has brought the world to this cataclysmic moment in time.

A friend who was invited to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s home just two years ago commented last night that he is barely recognizable. He has aged dramatically since this war for Israel’s very survival began.  Hardly surprising! This war is as physically and mentally demanding as any human being could possibly withstand. Maligned by political forces in our own country, facing bogus trials which the courts in their great wisdom, would not postpone simply because the nation might need their P.M. for more critical issues at the moment… the recipient of every accusation ever hurled at one human being… he has not cowered. The converse is true.  He has led his people, our people…with commitment and courage. This is a man to be emulated, not condemned.  He is leading our nation in the fight for the entire world.  The Ayatollah’s regime in Iran has never camouflaged its intentions to take away every ounce of freedom that you and I have bathed in for our entire lives. Who has had the courage to stand strong against this assault?  Up until this war, I could only think of one man. Since the barbaric assault against our innocents on October 7, 2023…  I have seen the courage of our entire nation burst forth.

When Netanyahu was invited to speak about the dangers of a nuclear Iran, to the U.S. Congress on March 3, 2015, then to the United Nations General Assembly on September 22, 2023 and again on September 27, 2024,  the political pundits had a field day.  How could he risk irritating Obama…Biden… the European Union… and a host of other entities which were ignoring the danger brewing?  He was maligned in the Israeli press for taking such a risk. When his absolute courage to proceed was trivialized by Israeli media as self-aggrandizing and dangerous, he travelled across the ocean with maps, charts, and facts in hand. It was essential that he do so. It was a matter of historical importance that Israel warned the entire world of the impending disaster of a nuclear Iran and its goals, even if it fell upon deaf ears. We in Israel watched as the world turned its back on the danger brewing…after all, most leaders knew they would not still be in office when the day of truth arrived.  Most were right. Biden, Obama, Merkel, Blair, and hosts of others who stroked the tail of the Iranian tiger… have made their fortunes, bought their yachts and mansions, hob-nobbed with the rich and famous… and must live with their cowardice for eternity.

Even those who appreciate President Donald Trump cannot help themselves from attributing his efforts to support Israel and stand firm against Iran, to his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize.  It is easy to give superficial explanations to very deep commitments.  Considering that the Nobel prize committee awarded the most esteemed honor on earth to a man how had not yet taken office, and had essentially done nothing for world peace whatsoever…Barak Obama…  the prize has been tarnished beyond recognition. It is not a prize which either Trump or Netanyahu pursue. People who think otherwise are lacking in depth.

Both the current President of the United States and the current Prime Minister of Israel care about their own people…their nation… the land of their birth… their heritage… the futures of your children and grandchildren in this very dangerous world.  It is not enough to worry about global warming and recycling, when there are very real evil leaders with tremendous, unimaginable wealth…trying to re-shape the world in their distorted ideologies. They have been ignored, and have done great damage which is only now being faced at great cost.

The current phase of Israel’s war for survival, Operation Rising Lion… is also a fight for your survival.  It is critical that everyone in the free world…in the world of Western values who believes themselves to be of high moral character…. faces this truth immediately.

Both Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and President Trump have the weight of the world on their shoulders this week.  If you find them looking a bit stressed or worn at the edges, put yourself in their shoes.  There is not one among us who could handle the pressure, the danger, and the responsibility of the future of the free world, in a more devoted, impassioned and capable fashion. Give their leadership its due.  At this point in time…nothing else truly matters.
