The international ensemble Seventh Station, made up of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim musicians from countries in conflict, is coming to perform in Israel for the first time – with a clear message of peace, reconciliation, and boundless art.

At a time when relations between Israel, Turkey, and Slovenia are especially tense, a rare

musical project is arriving in Israel with the goal of uniting, not dividing. Seventh Station, a progressive metal band that fuses modern classical music with roaring distortion, was founded by musicians from Turkey, Slovenia, and Israel – bringing to the stage a bold, brave, and entirely new voice.

The band, which has built a loyal following at festivals across the Balkans, Central Europe, and the UK, has never performed in the countries of its members’ origin – until now. With the release of their new album On Shoulders of Giants, they are setting off on a new tour that begins in Israel, with one clear goal: to build bridges through sound. To be a bridge, not a cliff. And if that can be done with speed and virtuosity – all the better.

From Jerusalem Roots to Europe’s Peaks Seventh Station was initiated by Dmitri Alperovich, a former Soviet-Israeli musician. Born in Minsk, Belarus, Dmitri grew up and studied in Israel, and presently resides in Slovenia.  Alperovich, the founder and producer of Seventh Station is a classically trained guitarist and composer, awarded the highest score in Israel for his instrumental skills already at the age of 17.

Later on, Alperovich continued to Jerusalem’s Academy of Music and Dance, where he formed “Seventh Station” together with bass player Alexy Polyanski. In 2014, he relocated to Slovenia, where he produced a number of live events, ranging from a festival to jam sessions and workshops, as well as performing classical guitar.

The main composer and visionary behind Seventh Station’s music, Alperovich’s productions and compositions are often multi-layered, large at length and thought outside of the box, cherishing the world of modern classical music, while delivering a nuanced expression of the essence of progress. Alperovich is also working as a session guitarist and a guitar teacher and has performed and produced music in the USA, the Balkan area, and the Middle East. There, he founded the band with classically trained musicians.  Alongside him stands Turkish keyboardist Eren Başbuğ, a resident of Ankara, who rose to international fame as a conductor and arranger for the legendary band Dream Theater, performing with them on major stages around the world.

Seventh Station has always taken high-reaching steps, bent upon emotionally complex and skillful art, with each album moving forward towards their focused vision of progressive music. Their unique mosaic of sound is stylistically bilingual, embroidering modern classical motives with the love of distortion, offering the audience thought-provoking musical pieces, larger-than-life constructs encapsulating stories on the verge of surrealism. Seventh Station’s virtuosity allows the band to explore and elaborate ideas, architecting a perpetual courage to experiment, sharing a wide range of unforgettable moments.

Over the years, the two have produced three albums in collaboration with musicians from across the globe, consistently maintaining one of the highest levels of musicianship.

In February 2025, Seventh Station put out their third record, “On Shoulders of Giants,” released by Dutch record label “Layered Reality Productions,” and distributed by “Dutch Music Works.”  The band’s most artistic statement yet, this meditative record is built for people who truly love unconventional music. Unconquered by trends or fashions, Seventh Station presents their musical aspiration to the next level of musicianship and technicality. This is Seventh Station pushed to the extreme.

With three albums under their belt, the intuitive “Between Life & Dreams” (2016), its dark calculated and frenzied successor “Heal the Unhealed” (2022), the radically artistic 2025 release “On Shoulders of Giants,” and with a fourth record in the making, Seventh Station is striding towards an authentic strict, endeavoring on fulfilling themselves as genuine authors, truthful to their craft and distinguished by their composition technique with each member recognized internationally for their former work in the world of progressive and classical music.

Recordings took place in Slovenia, Turkey, and the U.S., led by producer Matej Gobec – the sound engineer of Laibach, a producer and a band unafraid to perform even in North Korea.

“Playing at home – a dream come true.” “This is a deeply emotional full-circle moment for me,” says Alperovich. “It’s been a lifelong dream to return to Israel and perform for the people I love so much. We are a band that symbolizes diversity and pluralism – Christians, Muslims, and Jews working together, even when our countries’ leaders are at odds. We’ve made it happen all across Europe – now it’s time to do it here, in the Middle East. Israel is home to me, and it always has been.”

Seventh Station will be performing with the full lineup including Davidavi Dolev – frontman of Israeli band Subterranean Masquerade. Nicknamed in many magazines “a man of 1000 voices” and mostly known for his work with Progressive Ethnic Metal band Subterranean Masquerade, Dolev had performed extensively in over 25 countries through Europe, Israel, pre-war Russia, and India. He toured and supported acts such as Deep Purple, Disturbed, Therion, Orphaned Land, Sons of Apollo, and many more. Throughout his global work, he performed as a lead singer from punk bands to symphonic orchestras, big bands, and video games, and is featured on records together with top musicians such as Ron Bumblefoot Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria), Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), Rob Van Der Loo (Epica), Jeff Scott Sotto (Yngwie Malmsteen), and others.

Throughout magazines such as Prog Magazine, Loudwire, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, and New Noise, Dolev’s works have often won cherishable reviews, his latest record Mountain Fever with Subterranean Masquerade (Sensory Records 2021) was nominated and won the “Album of the Year” lists, while the Times of Israel named him “The King of Israeli Heavy Rock.”

During 2023, Dolev won second Prize for “Best Recorded Vocal Performance” at ProgSpace magazine, for his vocal work on Seventh Station’s “Heal the Unhealed,” second only to legendary Devin Townsend.

Seventh Station will perform in Israel on August 13, 2025 – The Zone Club, Tel Aviv
