The world
It swirls around us.
Things happening so quickly.
One thing seems certain: Israel is winning.
And the Jew-haters are losing.
You can feel victory in the air. You can practically taste a world of properness. Of holiness. Of upright values.
It’s all around us.
There is a story about a crazy guy who blew the shofar on the mountains of Jerusalem, many years ago, intending to signal that Moshiach had come.
When the Jews came running to Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Horodok (who was a disciple of the Chassidic leader the Mezritcher Magid, and who had immigrated to Israel), the Rabbi walked over to the window, opened it, and announced that Moshiach hadn’t come yet, because the air hadn’t changed.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe told this story, and then asked, why did the Rabbi need to open the window? Why couldn’t he just sniff the air in his own room?
And the Rebbe answered, because in his own room, the air was pure and holy. So he needed to sniff the outside air, to see if the outside world had become refined and holy.
These days, the air is changing. More and more holiness is permeating. There is much hope, that the world is on its way to improving immensely. People are witnessing tremendous miracles. There is a resurgence, an awakening to our heritage, to the holiness of our Torah, and to an awareness of our Father in heaven.
Evil is being destroyed, wondrously. The world around us is changing dramatically for the better.
We gaze in awe. And we are optimistic. The future looks bright. Redemption seems close.
May it happen very soon.
