They do three things good: lying, dancing and singing.
They do three things good: lying, dancing and singing.
When I was a child my parents, when talking between themselves, were telling in Yiddish-they can do three things good: “laigen, tantsn and zingen”. By ‘they’ my parents meant the Communist regime of the Soviet Union and the translation of ‘laigen’, ‘tantsn’ and ‘zingen’ from Yiddish to English is lying, dancing and singing.
My parents’ first encounter with the Communist Soviet power had happened in June of 1940, when the Red Army occupied Latvia, following the treaty of the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany to divide the territory of several sovereign countries between themselves. The communists were loudly announcing they are liberating the people this Baltic state from the chains of the “capitalistic exploitation”. When the Red Army unit enter the town where my parents were living at the time, the Soviet military had an ensemble of dancers and singers performing every evening for the people of the town. The performers appeared to be very happy. My mother witnessed, while shopping on the farmer’s market, one of the Red Army solders was so hungry that he devoured butter wrapped in paper with the paper being a part of the meal. For my parents these two events, the happy dancing and singing of the Red Army ensemble and the hungry solder, were a puzzle. As my parents gradually became familiar with the communist ideology, based of the Marxist- Leninist teachings, they realized that USSR ideological foundation is built on lies, dancing and singing. Nobody can deny the excellence of the Soviet time ballet and the exceptional talent of the opera and popular music singers. But the Soviet authorities were lying to the people of USSR consistently that the era of the communism is very close, just be patient and follow the line of the Communist Party. The Soviet leaders promised that when the communism will prevail, the people will have everything. At the same time, when the population of USSR was suffering from the deficit of life necessities, the Soviet and Communist Party apparatchiks had special stores where they were able to get all the necessities of life and luxuries. The ideology of Marxism-Leninism and the centralized economy did not work but the authorities continue lying to perpetuate and justify their existence. My parents were not experts in political and social sciences but it appears they were right.
I know that the information above is not new or unknown to the people of my generation. We all are aware of the unsuccessful, full of unimaginable tragedy and brutality, experience of the Bolshevik revolution started on November 7 of 1917. But I think the reminder of what the implementation of the Marxist ideology may lead to is justifiable and necessary because of the changing political and social climate in the Western democracies. These countries are gradually sliding down toward the extreme liberalism of Marxist kind.
Me and my family left Soviet Union many decades ago. We started our life here in the representative democracy supplemented with the fair level of liberalism. The children at schools were able to read and memorize ‘The Ten Commandments’ and learn the basics of the Judeo-Christian traditions. For me, as a person who grew up in Soviet Union where religion was taking out completely out of the people’s lives, the presence of “The Ten Commandments” at the schools’ premises and teaching of the basics of the Judeo-Christian tradition was a welcoming discovery. The children were acquiring the foundation on which to build their moral compass.
But several decades ago, not to offend other religions most of all the Islam, the process toward extremization of the liberalism has begun. The Ten Commencements were removed from the schools’ premises and to keep the knowledge of the Judeo-Christian tradition as a part of the school curriculum was not any more. You can’t blame thousands and thousands of children for losing the understanding what is right and what is wrong. It is the action of the government bureaucrats who implemented the perverted form of liberalism which deprived our youngsters from ability to become morally mature people. We should not be surprised by the enormous number of young people demonstrating for the Hamas, the terrorist organization. Most of them left the schools without being educated what is right and what is wrong and, therefore, without moral buttress to withstand the extremist Islamist propaganda.
The next steps to pervert the liberalism were the implementation of the identity and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies by the governments of the Western countries.
Thanks to the identity and DEI policies the leader of the free world, after the November 5 presidential election, can be a radical Marxist and a liar.
As Senator from Montana, the Republican Steve Daines, stated “Kamala Harris is the most liberal candidate running for president the Democratic Party has ever nominated”. Now, when Kamala Harris is campaigning to become the President of the USA, her radical positions on fracking, police defunding, immigration, on the support of the radical movements and others important to Americans and Israelis issues are suddenly changing to the opposite from before. This flip-flopping shows a person without the ethical and moral principles whose only purpose is to advance her carrier. As her ideological soulmate communist Bernie Sanders told: Kamala Harris is “doing what she thinks is right to win the election”. I think my parents’ assessment of the Soviet regime main features as lying, dancing and singing fit well with the Kamala Harris’s approach to the truth-as a real Marxist she is lying the same way as members of Politburo of the Communist Party of USSR were lying to people of Soviet Union. But forget the dancing and singing part with joy under Kamala Harris’s presidency, she will make the lives of Americans and Israelis miserable.
