Thinking big

One thing we can learn from Trump, is to think big, to look at the big picture, to be optimistic.

When he makes deals, he goes big. Then he gets the deal that he wants. In other words, by aiming for a big outlandish goal, he ends up getting somewhat less, but it’s satisfactory.

So aiming for the big picture can be a good strategy.

Taking it a step further, Chassidim say: Think good and it will be good. When we trust that G-d will help us, then often as a reward for the trust, G-d helps.

Regarding the current proposed deal, Trump is suggesting that Gazans should be allowed to emigrate to other countries. Some say that he doesn’t really mean it, and that it can lead to a kind of compromise. Others say that he does mean it. Indeed he has implemented other big ideas since he became president.

But here’s a thought. Even if he doesn’t mean it, things sometimes take on a life of their own.

In other words, there is a Supreme Deal-Maker Who ultimately controls everything. So Trump’s idea might actually materialize.

Indeed Israel’s defence minister ordered the army to prepare a plan to evacuate those who want to leave. There are rumours that numerous countries are interested in taking in the Gazans. We might soon see the migration begin to happen.

Without their civilian shield, Hamas will be ripe for the picking. When Hamas is destroyed, the world will become a much safer place.

World peace is on the horizon. The big picture looks bright.
