Those who bolt the coalition first may escape most of the voters’ wrath (hint)

This government’s days are seriously numbered, and all its parties will lose

The latest poll shows that if an election was held today, Netanyahu would lose his 64/120 Knesset majority and nosedive to 46. The leading Likud tumbles to third place. The previous coalition rises to a whopping 74-seat majority. Finally, again, Labor passes the four-seat threshold. Benny Gantz became the most popular successor of Bibi. Let’s transform the remaining demonstrations into celebrations. Nothing attracts voters like success.

Well done. Tenacity, hope, and unity have done their job. We, the People of Israel has done such a beautiful job defending democracy—defined as the rule of the majority taking all minorities into account.

The opposition was resolute and broad. From directors of banks, startups, and foreign investors to the left, the ultra-left (anti-‘the occupation’), and anti-Zionists to reserve pilots and IDF soldiers, the moderate half of the Likud, Muslim Israelis, and a visible and sizable LGBTQ presence.

The police, like the army, forbidden to show favor for any political stance, guarded the demonstrations so relaxed as I never saw them before. It was also nice to hear the head of police say that they are not serving politicians but the interest of the public. “Without the People’s trust, we’re nothing.”

Some terrorists and their supporters have calculated this as the time to attack because Israel is weak now. They made the same mistake as Haman (Esther 3:8). Israel is not frail or divided. We’ve never been stronger.

I’m so ready for a new government that takes serious minority rights, the safety and needs of women, LGBTQ, and Muslims, that excludes bigots from power, and that stands for having three branches of State power.

Journalists and social-media posters should not be forgotten. This all would not have been possible without them. The reverse for foreign politicians. They always criticize Israel as if the People here need an outside moral voice. We invented ethics and equality at Sinai, thank you.

This was Israel’s last right-wing coalition. From now on, the right can only participate by taking its humble place in a broad and large partnership, outnumbered by the center and the left. Everyone’s interests will be guarded. The Likud will become a centrist party. New laws should exclude bigots and other anti-equality, anti-democracy proponents from standing in elections or sitting in the Knesset or government. Inspired, news outlets should exclude the bigotry’s views since they are terrorists. In another 10 years, 50% of all Members of Knesset and ministers will be women.

Let’s celebrate.
