Three rituals for obtaining G-d’s blessing for earning your living
Rabbi Aryeh Leib Zell says:
“When you talk to HaShem every day
you feel Menucha (calmness)
and Kesher (connection)
to HaKodesh Boruch Hu.
You start feeling this world is not so important.
Everything is not only about this world!”
Rabbi Zell’s student comments:
Here are three rituals (segulas) to obtain blessings (berachas) for
earning a living (parnossa) from the
great Chassidic sage the Noam Elimelech (1717 to 1787):
(1) Pray to HaShem like a child talking to his
father and say:
“Tatta (Father), help me with my parnossa.”
(2) Pray with your whole heart.
(3) Don’t spend all your time
praying for parnossa.”
Rabbi Zell tells his student:
“When a person is busy all day
praying for what he wants,
then he is not involved with HaShem.
He is involved with himself.”
Also, pray for closeness to HaShem (Deveikus).
The risk of too much hishtadlus (effort) is it turns into belief in:
By the power of my hands (Hishtadlus).
You start believing it is your own efforts that
bring your livelihood.
Your focus for acquiring a living
should always remain on
your trust in HaShem!
Question:
Do you sometimes speak to HaShem as if you are
speaking to your very own father?
