Time to Wake up to Their Mind Games
This past week former President Bill Clinton, who famously made peace between Israel and Jordan, defended Israel’s war against the Hamas terror group in Gaza. He rightfully pointed out that the people who lived in Israel along the border with Gaza were the biggest peaceniks, and yet Hamas came to slaughter them. Obviously, this is not a peace partner in any sense of the word.
Unfortunately, however, these evil, barbaric radical Islam terrorists not only commit violence but also try to usurp and misuse the term “genocide” to hide their attacks against Israelis, Jews, and Zionists as well as their unbridled desire to destroy the State of Israel from “the river to the sea.”
While the terrorists disgustingly use the word genocide in their battle against us, in fact, they are the ones who cause the very conditions that they complain about. As Clinton, so eloquently stated:
Hamas makes sure that they’re shielded by civilians. They’ll force you to kill civilians if you want to defend yourself.
Everyone well-informed knows this, and this is all part of the big geopolitical game that they have been playing for a long time to destroy Israel. While they brutally attack us kinetically with missiles, bombs, drones, suicide bombers, and hostage-taking, they also cruelly try to make us feel immoral for trying to defend ourselves. That’s why so many of the young people these days are confused and tormented over this issue.
Accordingly, it is alarming to witness the rise of anti-Zionism and Jew hatred on college campuses and in political discourse. Unfortunately, there are many manifestations of the normalization of anti-Israel rhetoric and the demonization of the Jewish people, driven by an endless series of hate-filled Nazi and terrorist propaganda and blood libels:
- The accusation of “occupation” and “apartheid” and the “resistance by any means necessary” is similarly an entirely false construct to obfuscate and morally confuse, since it is the corrupt Palestinian leadership who utterly rejected the UN partition plan almost 80 years ago as well as all subsequent attempts at living side-by-side with Israel in peace and prosperity. Again, no one knows this better than former President Clinton who tirelessly tried to make peace with Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, only to have the most generous offers repeatedly rejected and without counteroffer.
- The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement targets Israel with economic warfare, seeking to delegitimize and isolate the Jewish state. This campaign often employs antisemitic tropes and double standards.
- The United Nations, unfortunately, has become a platform for anti-Israel bias. Numerous resolutions unfairly target Israel, while ignoring human rights abuses in other parts of the world. Additionally, UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority itself, rather than seeking peace, perpetuate a culture of perpetual victimhood, hate, and violence.
- Furthermore, the cynical manipulation and weaponization of international institutions, such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to falsely accuse Israel of war crimes and occupation is a dangerous trend. Such actions are designed to undermine Israel’s legitimacy and create a pretext for further attacks by terrorist organizations.
The truth is that radical Islamist groups, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, ISIS, and the Muslim Brotherhood, seek the destruction of Israel. Moreover, Iran, the #1 state sponsor of terrorism, openly calls for Israel’s annihilation and orchestrates the attacks and falsehoods against it on all fronts.
The Holocaust, which claimed the lives of six million Jews, is a stark reminder of what genocide really is and of humanity’s darkest chapter. For millennia, the Jewish people have endured persecution and oppression. Today, the State of Israel, the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people, once again faces existential threats.
So yes, I will say that I am unequivocally opposed to genocide but it is not the stolen use of the word and its abused meaning that the Jihadi terrorists and their “useful idiot” supporters employ to facilitate their evil plans of widespread murder and destruction against Israel and its citizens.
I know a mind game when I see one, and we all need to be clear-eyed about what is really occurring in the Middle East and beyond. I stand with Israel, a beacon of democracy and coexistence. I call upon the global community to condemn terrorism, promote peace, and defend the right of Israel to exist.
