To Be In God’s Dwelling of Security

To be in God’s dwelling of security

Within ourselves, we pray to be surrounded

Therein, and externally, with all our loved ones,

And where humanity finds worth in being one.

To enter the door of inner serenity

For oneself and for others, in a fortress

Which no building or enclosure can provide

In a symphony of inner peace.

In a refuge from outer conflict and chaos,

Where so many lived through crisis and turmoil,

They still speak of their inner sanctuary of retreat,

Where they found solace in belief beyond themselves.

Beyond physical essence, held by Divine grace

In the most harrowing of life journeys,

Yet, ready to face another day with hope

For a safe place to invite the world.

In the daily presence of guest patriarchs,

David, the author of the Psalms requests a blessing for all.
